About to buy a apple product and I need suggestions. I mean it sounds like the new mac pro that looks like a garbage can is the only thing you can really buy because the older mac pro got discontinued so with that being said what do I do? I really need a fast and reliable computer for heavy and massive virtual instrument use. Thoughts?

You don't have to get a Mac Pro to have a fast computer. iMacs and even Mac Minis have enough processing power nowadays to handle most home productions.

in terms of a fast and reliable computer for heavy and massive virtual instrument use, i would go for a top of the range iMac.

i was going to buy a new iMac and ended up going with macbook pro [non-retina, the one with dvd drive] and upgraded ram from 4gb to 16gb for $140 bucks. and i just use an external monitor/keyboard/mouse in my studio setup. i like it this way so that i can still travel and everything on here i can take with me. someone told me the new retina MacBooks arnt as easy to upgrade the ram yourself, thats why i went with this model. but whatever computer you end up going with..just make sure your ram exceeds the recommended ram. doesn't hurt to have more ram than you need.
