    Hi there

I'm evaluating a new mac.. i was very loyal to windows but now i am fat up with troubleshooting dropouts, gliches, etc.

I'm new into mac scene, so you think this mac will be enough for my purposes?

    - Traktor Scratch Pro
    - 4 Desks
    - Controller X1

    MacBook Pro:
    MacBook Pro 13" : 2.4 GHz / 6 GB
    MC374, 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 6 GB RAM (1x 2 GB und 1x 4 GB PC3-8500 1066 MHz) bis max. 8 GB, 250 GB Festplatte, NVIDIA GeForce 320M mit 256MB, 13.3" Widescreen Bildschirm mit LED-Hintergrundbeleuchtung und Hochglanzanzeige (1280 x 800), 8x Superdrive, iSight Kamera, 1x Mini DisplayPort, 2x USB 2.0, 1x FireWire 800, 1x SD Kartensteckplatz, 1x Gigabit Ethernet, Airport Extreme, Bluetooth 2.1 inkl. Netzteil, MacOS X 10.6 und iLife

    any answer very appriciated..

That should be more than enough. I have a 2.4GHz Macbook with 4GB of RAM and I'm able to run 4 decks in Traktor with timecode or a Kontrol X1. Your only concern will be if the screen is large enough to display all the information you want when running 4 decks.

    Thanks for your answer..

yes i think 13 inches are quite filled up with 4 desks and effecs?
I don't think there is any space to display the tracks browser

Is there not an option in Traktor to switch the display in order to see the full trackbrowser?

There is such an option I'm sure, I just forget how to do it.

I just upgraded to a 15" macbook pro, but my 3yr old 13" macbook with barebone specs (except for 3gb of ram instead of stock 1gb) was able to handle tractor pro relatively fine, and I was running 4 decks (bottom 2 were mini decks tho)

honestly 6gb of ram is overkill for that, save your money and buy it with stock 4gb of ram if thats the lowest they got, if you want more buy it and install it yourself. (just don't tell apple you did)
