Here's my issue experienced yesterday. I connect maschine and a motu ultralite mk3 on a win7 64 laptop. Launch Ableton Live. Live could not start the audio engine, and it crashes.

    BUT

if leave maschine unconnected, launch Live with motu connected, and THEN connect maschine it works.

    Wierd!

PS Everything on latest versions and drivers and patches

i do hope you ran Maschine in Standalone Mode before using it with Ableton Live?

also, did you instal the Maschine software without the Controller being attached?

please try to launch Maschine in Standalone Mode and set the Audio Preferences to your ultralite. does that work?

Well yes I used maschine in standalone before using it with live. The thing is that with audio4dj interface everything works just fine. The problem is motu and machine together when try to use em with ableton live. Also tried on different laptops with no success..

what is your real problem? When everything is intalled correctly, you start Live and if it isn't already set, go to the Preferences/Audio and select your Motu soundcard. Set the sample buffer to 128 or 256 samples in Live.

If this doesn's work, it is not a problem of Maschine.

Have you installed the sound driver from Motu?

To my knowledge, you can open up Maschine in VST mode in Ableton and only in VST, that means the MIDI clock is set automatically to slave in Maschine as the sample frequency and the buffer size as well.

Pleasy list what you are doing when starting all your software here, I can't figure out your problem...

ok folks, I'll try to explain again. Here we have 3 different scenarios

    1)
i connect via usb maschine and motu to my asus g73 laptop (win7x64)
    turn on the pc
    turn on ableton live
ableton live could not initialize the sound engine. If i try to open the motu from preferences it crashes.

    2)
i connect via usb the motu to my asus g73 laptop (win7x64)
    turn on the pc
    turn on ableton live
    ableton live opens properly
    connect maschine via usb
open maschine as vst in live
everything works almost fine. (minor glitches)

    3)
i connect via usb machine and audio4dj to my asus g73 laptop (win7x64)
    turn on the pc
    turn on ableton live
open maschine as vst in live
    works perfectly.

    obviously all latest drivers installed.
But nevermind, for now i'll use my audio 4 dj and my band mate will use the motu on another pc.

Just beware (til now) of the combination motu ultralite mk3 + maschine + ableton live (pc version)

I think this is not a problem of combining these three things.

I have 10.6.5 on my Macbook, no matter which machine I connect or which program I start at first, it always works the same.

I can unplug Maschine while it is running and playing in Ableton and plug it in again - nothing happens - I got one Motu 828 and two 8pre, all work without any problems, I can even plug of the 828 in Ableton whily playing and connect it again. There I have to change to the Motu in the preferences again, but all without any breakdown... So I do not think it is a Motu problem
