    Dear all,

I happen to notice on Maschine and Komplete Kontrol that the internal Core Audio driver in my Mac(book) seems to provide misaligned names.

    Currently I have:
    Maschine Out 1 L is labeled as : "1"
Maschine Out 1 R is labeled as: "Loudspeakers R"

Same is happening in Komplete, so I guess it is a Core Audio thing. I googled but I could somehow not find it at all.

Does anyone know how to how to change the output names that the macOS Core Audio driver is providing or have a clue in the right direction?

Make sure setup as stereo pair vs two mono channels. Check the audio setup panel in Apple settings, too. Not sure that helps, but would start there.

Thanks, I checked. In the Apple settings indeed the audio device (the built in) is configured as Stereo. Actually there is no other option than the 'Stereo' in the Apple settings, that further just says Left Channel "1" and Right Channel "2".
I do wonder where the names that NI software "sees" then comes from, I think there is some inbetween translation step.
Also wondering what other mac users see.

202atNI I’m experiencing the same issue. Did you end up finding a solution? Would love to know.

For documenting purpose, this was checked also on other Macbook laptops and confirmed to be found also there.
So it seems this is a mac output port labeling issue.

Might be based on some mixer labeling, where output 1 defaults to mono, output 2 defaults to mono, but in stereo mode is labeled as 1 R so no longer output 2 mono, but R output of first stereo pair.

I noticed in MacOS 12.0.1 this is fixed.

    It is now showing as:
Maschine Out 1 L is labeled as port: "1: 1"
Maschine Out 1 R is labeled as port: "2: 2"
