Ir would be great if we could assign a custom colour to a macro

Background image with resize is a more flexible option for me.

Sure , but that will just increae the file size .
Sometimes I just want a clean layout with different coloured sections , without using an image editor at all

Alternative is to use multi display.

You can then do what you like, have any colour, have it change when you like etc.

could use an RGB LED the size of the macro.

bit of a pain because you have to resize it when you resize the macro...

If all you need is a flat color, the image can be as small as a single pixel since you can make it resizable in the properties.

I know about the suggestions , but these elements need to reside in another nested macro if we dont want these in front of of the controls and text layers .

Not that much cause you just need the corners and let the image resize to the macro.
