What would be nice would be to be able to replace a macro in an existing instrument with another one. This would enable a form of rudimentary inheritance (in OO programming terms) so when one upgrades a custom made macro those changes are cascaded to the instruments that use them.

This is however quite a tricky thing to do because sometimes one wants changes in a macro to cascade to other instruments and other times you don't. In additiona to that use case it is technically also quite tricksy to acheive ...

.... so I would settle for being able to highlight a macro and replace it with another one (this would only work of course if the inputs and outputs were the same).

Yeah, I've mentioned this a few times - a Right Click > Replace With command would be great.
