I'm currently looking into a problem with the Flash plugin instsller causing crosslinked files at installation time.

I have a request for any user who has upgraded to Traktor 3.1 running on OSX and who has installed the flash 8 plugin from the 3.1 install package, please run the Disk utility to check your disk and report back results here IF errors are found AND the errors occur in the Flash 8 plug-in files that were just installed.

This does NOT mean all systems that have upgraded are affected, I'm simply trying to understand if there is a problem here that needs attention.

    that's wierd!
I've got pretty much the same computer as Crucial D, but I've had no problems, & nothing much in need of fixing in Disk Utility's log file.

I wonder how much of this is to do with Rosetta? Perhaps this is not seen on PPC, but I would still like to know for sure. I might be worth having people run Disk utility prior to upgrade and then after to confirm if this is a problem.

I also encountered the permissions issue after checking on my PowerMac G5 Quad. I'm thinking its not anything to worry about as perhaps NI's installer was not configured exactly right and maybe was not using the correct user to operate and install under.

Apple themselves recommends to verify/correct permissions before and after every major install as they cannot guarantee that their 3rd party developers will implement installation procedures 100% to Apple specs. The trick is to not let permissions issues get too out of hand ...

    edit ...
Didn't see your potential OS crash note before posting this. It is absolutely true that permissions conflicts/corruption can cause system crashes. Therefore it is definitely recommended to verify and repair permissions on a regular basis.

Traktor 3.1.0 Update has been withdrawn. Problems with it will be fixed and an update released in a few days. If you have downloaded the 3.1.0 Update it is recommended that you do not install the update at this time but rather wait for 3.1.1 to become available soon.
