    Hi,

I just installed Traktor Pro 1.2.3 and almost immediately discovered a bug which I suspect only affects playback of AAC files (bought on iTunes).

    BEHAVIOR:
When the track reaches its end. If you try to go backwards in the track or at the beginning, you will hear no sound and you see the waveform erasing itself. The only way to hear sound coming out again is to reload the track.

I don't know if this bug was already there in previous versions but it's quite annoying, especially when you use vynil scratch mode, though the problem appears in any mode.

I tried restarting Traktor with Vynil Scratch and any MIDI controllers disabled and I obtain the same result.

The issue doesn't appear with my older mp3 encoded tracks though, that's why I think it's an AAC issue.

this was there before. but i don't know if anybody had noticed the AAC association to it. i would bring it up with NI and let them know what you have found. maybe it will help all of us on the next update.

I saw this in 1.2.2 as well. It's very annoying!

I have the same problem. I only thank god I didn't notice this live. I also thank god I don't have a lot of AAC files. However, this is absolutely unacceptable. I've never had huge gripes with Traktor on my system, but this one I can't live with.

Can someone from NI confirm that they are aware of this issue and are trying to resolve it? My bug reports have all gone unanswered.

    Please?

Now I'm convinced it has to do something with AAC files. Will file a ticket too.

Did anyone have a chance to ask about this bug in Traktor on the Record #18? I didn't check back in time and missed the opportunity. It would be nice to get some public disclosure on the status of a fix...

When trying to play CDA tracks (ie tracks from audio CD) a smiliar problem happens but even before the song gets anywhere near the end. I don't have AAC tracks on me so I cannot test if the symptoms are identical.

This started happening in TSP 1.2.3 and 1.2.4. Previously I could play two songs from the same CD simultaneously (sometimes I mash up random CDs audience members hand me... yeah I'm a show off), now I have problems playing even one track.

I can join the club here. Only way to get the track to play again is to load a different track in the affected deck then return to the track with issues.

Planning to do some tests with other MP3's I'm currently tagging. I want to see if they are affected as well. If I wasn't trying out a trick I wanted to test, I wouldn't have noticed this bug at all.

    Hope this gets fixed.

You'll notice it if you're playing to a packed house and loop the last couple bars of an affected track...

I upgraded from 3.4.x to traktor pro 1.2.4 last weekend. Imported my tracks and I'm seeing a pretty similar issue, except this is on my FLAC files only so far.
If I skip through the files, I will lose audio and only have the low-res waveform in the top view (as if the audio wasn't loaded).
I'll experiment some more with it and post again...

I've noticed this as well with FLAC. FLAC is comparable to a Zipped up WAV file. FLAC takes longer to load the high-res waveform than the MP3 or WAV does because Traktor and your computer have to decompress such a large file.

I'm not sure if this is an issue due to the FLAC decompression codec, Traktor's programming, or the motherboard/RAM/cpu. I haven't tested this in any other software; has someone else tried skipping throughout the FLAC waveform in other software?

I should mention this is with files that played just fine with traktor 3.4, and I'm pretty sure they were ok with the 1.1x traktor pro demo.
If it's even necessary, those same files played just as fine in winamp, vlc, songbird - even my ipod mini runnning Rockbox could play and skip through these flacs.
Couldn't reproduce that bug with the longest mp3 I could find, I have some 32bit wavs from my vinyl rips, I'll try these too.

Has anyone tried jamming with cues? In my case in addition to the track ending issue, the sound disappears after playing with cues, a track doesn't even come close to the end!
This is a major issue people, we sholud get this fixed asap coz Traktor isn't usable this way!
