Major EP-1.5 problems

I just installed the EP-1.5 update. Although I have entered the new serial number that was issued to me, I have not activated the product, yet. However, every single time I bring up the standalone version of EP-1.5, it automatically moves into the Audio Setup screen and hangs. At this junction, I cannot even restart Windows XP - YIKES! I have had to hard boot my system a number of times, which I don't like doing, of course.

I can bring up the VSTi version in Cubase SX3, but I cannot select a single preset, even though it's in DEMO mode. Instead, I get a nag window informing me that the product is not activated.

Is v1.5.0.8 buggy? What's going on? Are we BETA testers...again?!

sounds like you got problems...

Do an offline activation,, use registration centre.
Find the Elektrik Piano 1.5 in product overview insert your registration number emailed to you from NI.
Then export the registration file, stick on a memory stick. Activate online and get activation file. Then import this into the Registration Centre.

After this you can try and start 1.5 properly. Sounds like it might be struggling with your soundcard driver whatever you have.

Try disabling your soundcard temporary and then start 1.5. Select and MME driver or something other than usual soundcard and see if it works.

If it does, then close 1.5 and re'enable your soundcard. Restart 1.5 and then try selcting your soundcard ASIO driver.

Epiano 1.5 uses same sample set library as V1

EPiano 1.5 has no stability issues here whatsoever.

Everything else works perfectly. I don't have any problems with other VST/VSTi's; no problems with other NI products; no sound card problems. IN fact, EP-1 works fine, as well.

However, when I bring up EP-1.5, it hangs...very strange.

I made this post to see if others discovered a similar behaviour. Most likely, I'll just do a re-installation. Hopefully, this will flush out the problem(s).

1) Hanging at standalone startup: Does EP hang after you have selected an audio driver and click OK, or when the audio setup dialog appears. If it hangs when you click OK this indeed seems to indicate a conflict with a certain audio driver. Please let me know which driver you select then.

2) When the product is not activated it should show the demo screen. In your case I would assume that the VST plugin of EP has not been updated like the standalone. Please re-install the update and make sure to select the correct VST plugin folder during installation.
