Major kontakt 5.3.1 problem, pops/clicks

I was having some issues suddenly, many of my Kontakt patches exhibited pops/clicks. A friend of mine told me he had the same issue, and when he downgraded to Kontakt 5.3.0, it solved it for him. Same here. Also notable is that the problem is much worse when Kontakt is hosted within VE Pro.

Mac OS 10.8.6, Cubase 7.5.10, VE Pro 5.3.13141. PS: Issue only occurs in live/playback, NOT when doing mixdown to WAV.

 

No patch for this bug yet? Any progress? A few other people I've talked to experienced the same exact problem. 5.3.1 is absolutely unusable.

 

10.8.6 is unsupported by NI since 5.3.0, just FYI.

 

Say WHAT? If 10.8.6 is unsupported by Kontakt 5.3.1, why would it let me upgrade to that version? And how can they just ditch support for 10.8.6 so quickly? Where did you get this information?

 

Official Kontakt product page says Mac OS 10.7 or 10.8 is required.

Best thing you can do is raise a support ticket with NI. At least that way, you know that NI are logging the issue. Here on the forum, its a matter of luck if there is an NI response to your issue.

Hi Sam,

just to add to this: I am having the same issue with Logic Pro X on a Mac Pro 6-Core 3.33 GHz with 48 GB RAM and Mountain Lion. Crackles galore every now and then. This issue has also been reported on various other forums, so hopefully NI will release a fix soon (did some testing with various engine settings, but to no avail).

Hi there,

I'm not experiencing pops and clicks, nevertheless opening K 5.3.1 in standalone, now and again, a message appears: "Kontakt is not responding"..., so I have to close the program and re-open it again.
Quite weird. This is my first issue with Kontakt in years.

I'm experiencing pops and clicks with 5.3.1 in Mac OS 10.7.5, standalone, AAX and RTAS. No error messages.
I've written to NI tech support a month ago. No response yet.
