    REQUESTS for NI :

Please NI your team have done a superb work and the hardest has been done !

So now make Maschine sequencer THE ULTIMATE DAW for your customers even if we have to pay for that.
Most of us didn't need a general DAW like Cubase/Pro Tool or Live. Even for the mastering Maschine has what to do in its effects section .
Why loose our time with these general DAWs ? : no integration, horrible rooting etc.. for me zero interest comparing with the combinaison of Maschine & Komplete Kontrol : we have ALL under ours fingers ! and that's the NI deal !

Now you just have to review the graphical interface in the style of Bitwig Studio for example :

    - new graphical interface for Midi Edition : big piano roll panel with the name of the notes visible, the possibility to mute some notes in the pattern and activate or not the arpeggio function on the already recorded notes...

    - Zoom for the 4K screen like Bitwig Studio (sequencer & plugings) my eyes are really tired....
    - Audio tracks & edition : audio conteners, copy & paste etc...

    Remark :
About Komplete Kontrol Update 1.8 with all scales & modes etc.. : superb work !
BUT only on stand alone mode ! so with a fu***ing general DAW.
No integration in the Maschine sequencer and hardware !!!

Can't understand that, since i've get Maschine i'll never use Cubase anymore (after months of tests : horrible integration)

When you have Maschine controler with Komplete Kontrol that's all we need : super workflow.
So why NI didn't extend these new scales & chords scripts of the update, however it's already implant in Maschine sequencer : just transfer these new scripts in.
I really hope it will be resolve at the next update.
    Hope NI will hear me..
    Guys try to ask them
I think the more demands there are, the more they can or want to do.

See this excellent video about these requiests from Mr King David of Trap Monsters (thanks man):

Not that your suggestions are bad, but Maschine is nowhere near being a DAW. What we need is proper DAW integration, since most people use Maschine as a plugin in their DAW of choice and it has always posed major problems and limitiations, despite years of customers demanding fixes. So demand away...NI does what NI wants.

Using Maschine as a simple pluging in a DAW it's just a normal & legitim option.
3 modes : stand alone, plugin (in your favorite daw) & hote sequencer .

For me, after 20 years under Cubase (& later Kontakt) i can ensure you that NI does what WE want !
It's why we invest to follow and support them. I don't want to reduce this faboulous sequencer & its hardware controlers (MS-MJ & KS) to a simple plugtool.
Don't want loose my time if you know what i mean ? that's the real workflow !

In fact my dream becomes thrue with NI : a real integration between soft & HW.
Now just give us the confort of a standard daw please..../

They should get together with Intel & throw all of the Akai standalone products (slated for this spring) into the chipper by giving them real competition.

If they did just a bit more homework, they could run audio directly into the box, via their own Maschine/KK hybrid DAW, Audio 10 IO, all in one box. I'd buy that for a few dollars.

But yes, "just" a DAW (for now) would turn my favorite workflow into the only workflow I need ever access.

For my part, I like the graphical interface of perform fx and drumsynth. These graphical elements could be used in other parts of the soft...

Users are still waiting for a bunch of features that have been requested for ages, some are pretty simple and they are still not implemented now imagine a full fledged daw.. it would take NI 10 years. Thats not doable for now, updates are slow unfortunately.

I personally would love to see Maschine became a DAW but a lot of people like the simplicity of a software/hardware that is MPC/Old School inspired.

    Solution?
    • 1 - I think the solution to a lot of problems would be to have both. Either have Maschine Software like it is now and a brand new separate Native Instruments DAW, a DAW that is fully tailored to have perfect integration with all the other products of NI. Awesome but would take for ever.
    • 2 - To have 2 Maschine "modes" normal and advanced, by clicking the advanced it would unlock the more advanced and cluttered view. This would also take for ever.
Personally i wouldn't mind paying extra for either.

How to develop a NI DAW faster?

A full DAW takes a ton of development time, if i worked at NI i would propose to buy out a smaller company that already as a developed a decent DAW that they could improve upon and adapt to all NI's products for perfect fast and easy seamless integration, that should cut down the software development dramatically, of course it would have a cost but im pretty sure it would be worth it and sell tons of copies.

Imagine working at your NI DAW even for non production stuff... imagine mixing and seeing a similar mixer to the one one Maschine Software but outputting and controlling your daw? It could be not only a controller but also a secondary screen for a lot of stuff... possibilities are endless.
    One can dream right?? :D:p

As long as it had most the features of my current DAW i wouldn't mind changing and learning a new one.

Another amazing option would be make Maschine open source so others could develop software for it and it could be able to fully access it. This is also good for the NI developers to steal ideas and code from LOL. Apple does this all the with he jailbreak community of iPhones, they often add features that became popular in the jailbreak community.

    Just my 2cents.

Well summed up the thing :) now what I would also like to have is a maschine software specially studied for live.
By integrating innovations that come under a "mix", another one of the " production" and yet another of the "live", nothing really advances and we end up with software incomplete on many points and that never completely satisfies a field.
For the "live" aspect that interests me already it would be necessary that NI could make collaborate intelligent several controllers (two it would already be bad) together on the same instance of maschine.
In addition to my mk2 maschine, I equipped myself with a maschine mikro that I use in midi mode to extend my field of possibility. But this is still too limited.
