    Hi there,

I am finally looking to get my hands dirty with some ensemble building.

I found the ensemble "stab machine" (love it!) – what i would like to do is strip it back and change it slightly to suite my needs.

Basically i want to remove the 4 samplers and rather than make it an instrument i would like to make it an “efx unit”.

I would like to be able for it rather than use 1 audio sample to use "incoming audio". So i could for example put it after an instance of the synth Massive.

I have no idea where to begin however – and would appreciate some tips on how to go about this...

If someone would even be willing to spend some time giving me a step by step guide i’d be more than happy to give something back (perhaps a synth bank for Massive i made?)

So in short i would like to remove the 4 samplers and the sample panel and replace these with an “audio in” or similar.

Also – 1 quick general reaktor question – why does the pitch have to set to “60” to be “0” (the original sample pitch) ?

here is the stab machine ensemble : http://co.native-instruments.com/index.php?id=userlibrary&type=0&ulbr=1&plview=detail&patchid=756

    Thanks in advance!

    Steve

great ensemble, a sleeper worth waking up. :)

attached is an entry point for you. note that only the bottom sequencer is currently being used (to change level (lvl) settings). you can use the top sequencer also (and even add more if you want), but you have to decide what parameter(s) you want it to change and then code that in.

use the reaktor Playerbox to feed the ensemble an audio input. i like the results when the Dry fader is turned off, so you only get the processed signals. :)

many samples play back at their original pitch when MIDI note 60 is played to trigger them, so that is why 60 is used.

Excellent thanks! I only just saw this...
I tried myself last night... it took me an hour of so of tinkering but i manegd to get this actually working

Also added in a rhythmic gate and the EQ 10. Amazing... great results.

My only complaint is that it kept crashing reaktor.

    Some questions ...

On the EQ – if i want to add knobs instead of sliders – how do i go about replacing these?

I want to replace the reverb, but the inputs and outputs of the device already installed don’t match the spacemasters. How can i do this?

    That’s it – thanks!

I will try your one out tonight!

I think what i would like to be able to do is to create a basic 2 osc synth fedding the sequencer already in place and then ionto these effects.

However i really like Massive (the synth), and prefer this to be the input...
The gate was a nice touch, but i think i would like to sequence the massive stabs inside reaktor - no idea how i could do this... perhaps add in a recorder of some kind and capture the audio in then have the sequencer in reaktor play the stabs.

    Probably not clear ...
    Will be a fun project.

What i am trying to make is a kind of "dub techno machine" something in one ensemble that makes those lovely delayed, reverbed lowpassed saw waves. When i found stab machine i had great success resampling in dry synth stabs from massive and letting stab machine play the sequence... beautiful almost deepchord sounds.

    Thanks again.

Played with this last night - really great.

My only thing with it is becuase the stabs on input are short the sequencer doesnt really do much.
Now if the sequencer could retrigger the midi - that would be IDEAL
    Possible?

what midi? (the ensemble i uploaded doesn't involve midi.) please describe exactly what you have in mind. :)

    Sorry i wasn't very clear.

I have a midi track in live - i have 1 instance of massive playing my synth stb, then reaktor fx with your ensemble in it.It would be great if there was some way the sequencer in the ensemble could retrigger the stab in massive somehow.

If for example there was no midi to trigger massive in live, but instead the ensemble pushed out midi to trigger masssive - is that possible?

yes it's possible for a reaktor ensemble to send out both midi controller messages and midi pitch/gate messages. right click in a structure, and look under Built-In Modules, MIDI Out. :)

    Thanks!
How would i associate that with the sequencer - for example wherever there is one of those orange bars it sends out midi (with the height still controlling the volume of course. Surely the ensemble would have to be BEFORE the synth not after it for this to work?
