Very limited information on MIDI in the manual.

I’m assuming the Controller Editor app has more information, but I don’t see a manual for that.

My goal here is to Recall Projects or songs using Note On/Off, MIDI CC or MIDI Prgm Chng messages.
No mention of this anywhere in the manual.

In MK3 Manual it mentions using MIDI CC’s for Scenes. I could possibly use Scenes as a song and just record/program this accordingly.

I don’t want to be glued to the Maschine Plus while I’m performing.
It’s why I wanted to buy one because my MPC Live is way too many key presses to dig up a song.

If anyone using the Controller Editor can chime in here it would be appreciated.
I don’t see how they could have Scene recall in MK3 but nothing in the Standalone Maschine Plus.

    Thanks So Much

Controller Editor is only for when M+ is in controller mode, its unrelated to standalone mode.
MIDI Change, this is not possible yet with the M+ (standalone) and I have no idea how soon it will come.

    What does 'recall projects' mean?

    Thanks for confirming my suspicions.
I was told to read MK3 manual until M+ manual arrived, MIDI control is absent for now, but hope they bring along more of the MK3’s Automations sometime.

It’s why when I didn’t see any mention of it in the manual I sought clarification.

Guess I’ll just have to stop and reach over for playback of a Project/Song for now.

On second thought maybe I should just buy the MK3, keep it as a spare after M+ gets up to snuff.

In controller mode, a Maschine+ pretty much is an MK3, don't go buying one just for extra features (like MIDI Change), because there aren't any.

    Now I’m totally confused.
A user here said he used Scene changes with MIDI, the MK3 Manual has the option.

You’re the moderator and a user, I’m sure you’d know what’s real or not.

    Thanks

You know of a good hardware sequencer for drums, bass and sampling?
Preferably one I’m not handcuffed to?

Sorry, maybe I wasn't very clear... I'll try again.

It's is indeed an option, its called MIDI Change. (MIDI input can trigger Scenes, Sections or Lock States)

It is available for Maschine Desktop software - if its the Mk3, Studio, Maschine Mk2, Mikro it doesn't matter, it's a software feature available on the computer, the controller is irrelevant, you can use it with no NI controller at all.

When Maschine Plus is connected to a computer and in Controller Mode it is an MK3 equivalent, it becomes a controller only, therefore it has access to the full computer software features, like MIDI Change. (for this reason, it makes no sense for you to buy an MK3 over this)

MIDI Change will probably come to Maschine Plus standalone in the future, how soon? I have no ideia.

HW is not really my thing so I can't really recommend anything, I'm the ITB type, M+ is an exception :D

Actually I’m rather dense, appreciate your help, really do.
Like the Plus so much I will deal with this limitation.

Sure hope they add this along with other Trsnsport treats.

I asked about how to edit CC values and Program Changes from the customers support and they told it's possible if you make a group in the software version and then import it into Maschine+
If you want to change patterns or record mutes etc. on external machines, like the Octatrack, just remember to use the Auto channel. Otherwise you will just get a MIDI note.
Here is what NI-Customer Service wrote me:
"It is actually possible to do that.
The only thing you need to know is that it is not possible to create macro banks within Maschine Plus.
You could use already existing templates, which you can find in the Maschine browser under

    Groups > MIDI Ext

There are some presets for a couple of synths.

If you want to create your own bank, you would need to create a new Group in Maschine 2 software on your computer.
Then save this group on the SD card and bring it back to Maschine Plus.

Then you could load this group from the browser under the User section. "

I really hope to get this feature directly on Maschine+ quick, because the only reason I ever needed a standalone Maschine is to fit it into my hardware setup. Otherwise the software would be enough.

Thank You so much for your efforts.

We all have our own workflow which is why such a noble effort from NI is deeply appreciated, and I bought this because I need a hardware sequencer to run the instruments/musicians I am replacing.
A reality from COVID-19 and future opportunities.

Small clubs are going to be competing for capital, DJs are always doing these gigs, but there’s so many talented singers and instrumentalists in Nevada who are for the first time working straight gigs to get by.

My goal is a live HipHop Karaoke group.
Using multiple singers, male/female/trans (It’s Vegas) and help people enjoy their lives and also a showcase for those seeking work. Self promotion is a huge benefit.

I can’t be glued to a box like a DJ because I’m covering vocal automations, lights, and 3-4 parts.
Maschine + will make my life easier because I can already automate an entire showroom, been doing it for years w/ Reaper and before that hardware sequencers that NEVER crash.

Making everything in software then transferring it to hardware was why I bought the MPC Live.
That is a great mobile rig but a PITA calling up and loading a project, much less wanting to control critical Vocal FX presets, etc.
Thankfully my Physis K4 can control everything.
A hardware sequencer doing bass/drums pre recorded LoFi/reverse vocals, lighting CC’s, with great sounds and basic MIDI control is a gift from Heaven.

I need to contact support with other questions as they seem to have work arounds most are unaware of.

    BIG THANKS..
