    Hey there.

I need to map BeatJump on my PC keyboard but I can't seem to figure out how. If any of you could offer an example for, let's say mapping BeatJump forward, 4 bars, I could easily elaborate from that and map for different bar lengths by myself.

I'm using Traktor PRO, btw. Thanks

Heres the functions you'll need to map

In Input controls choose VIEW Category
Show Advanced Panel (optional - Just guarantees you'll see the panel)
Select Adv Panel - set to value Move

    from the Cue/Loop Category
    Cue/Loop Move Mode = BeatJump
    Cue/Loop Move

Choose parameters INC and DEC to move forward and backward.

You can add Cue/Loop Move Size if you want but I use a different pair of hot keys to set the size.

    Some points to note...
Hotkeys and controller settings are quite atomic and its intended that you commonly use multiple settings all assigned to the same keys to perform more macro-like functions.
Let the internal logic in Traktor work out what order the actual functions work in. It gets it right pretty much always.
the Hold itemas a parameter option in Traktor does not work If you use it it will restore your control back to the first value in the list This is for me a HUGE PITA and adds hundreds of additional assignments to my control maps that should not be there AND it limits what you can do with control maps.

In my case I use F5 and F6 to do beat jumps. with regular Keys I simply jump forward or backward. Shift F5 anf shift F6 also set the size to 1 and then jump 1 beat Ctrl F5 F6 jump 4, ALT F5 F6 Jump 8, Ctrl Alt F5 F6 jumps 16. I also use F11 and 12 to change the size manually, bewcause once the size is set you cannot restore the original value. (If hold worked.... <sigh>
I do a similar thing with Loop Moves too, using F3 F4 and the key modifiers are alll the same plus F11 and F12 change the move sizes because Loop Move and Jump shares the same jump size functionality.

Thank you, I'll go ahead and test that.

I still haven't managed to correctly map the increments Traktor performs BeatJumps. I mapped CUE/LOOP size but it jumps to FINE instead of toggling through the various available jump increments.

    Any help?

There is a new MIDI command called BEATJUMP !
Very easy to use! Thanks for improving usability.

I also like to map a "backward" loop now.
    -> beatjump: - 1 bar
loop size + set: 1 bar

I have no idea how that could help me. I want to map the BeatJump size to my PC keyboard, not MIDI.

    A couple of things....

1/ MIDI and Keyboard Hotkeys are essentially identical except for the medium that is used to provide the input.

2/ As I said in the first message you can also map in Cue Loop Size assignment to the function you want to perform in order to set the size... OR as BASTA correctly points out you can and should use beatjump to save yourself some programming. If you just want to jump whatever the currently selected size is then you should do it the old fashioned way.

Remember there is no restriction on the number of assignments you can add to a Hotkey. so long as it does what you want add as many functions as you need to Git-er-Done!

Is that in v1.2.3? I'm stil on 1.2.1.

And maybe I'm a bit thick but I still cannot seem to be able to correctly map the key to choose the BeatJump increments (for full bars, eg. 2/4/8/16 etc) All I'm able to achieve by mapping and using loop size is jumping to FINE, instead of bar increments.

    WTF.

When you map size use the input type of Direct and set the size as desired. Make sure your assignments do NOT include reset or other sizes.

Practice your design with a completely empty hotkey map so that you dont have other hotkeys adding to your function. Play around experiment, you'll discover all kinds of interesting functions and behaviors.

Beatjump is new to 1.2.3 and that is the version you should use.
