    Hi Guys,

I'm basically trying to map the LED's on my Akai MPK Mini to Traktor. I've figured out how to program them to flash in time with anything on the decks, but now I want to know if it's possible to get them to flash in time with my FX. I've been using Beatphasing to get the LED's to flash but for the life of me, can't figure out how to get the to flash on FX. I basically have my FX programmed so that when I push down on a pad, the effect becomes active and then when I twist a knob, it increases or decreases the parameters of the effect. I want to know if it's possible to program the LED's on the pads so that when I push down on the pad and twist the knob, the flashing LED's speed increases along with the parameters of the effect. e.g. Push pad 1 (set to beatmashing) - twist knob 1 (from 1/8 to 1/32) - while twisting the knob, the LED flashes increases with the speed of the beatmasher.

    HELP.

    Thanks

I do not think that's possible.

If you are using just two or three decks for your mixing you can sacrifice fourth deck for that purpose. Play some track in there and set it in loop, now map beat output to desired pad and loop size selector to FX knob and set invert. This way when you move knob clockwise 4th deck loop should get shorter giving you that LED blinking effect you are talking about.

There is one more cleaner way to do this but it requires routing midi back to traktor and more complex mapping.

Hi, I know it's been a while since anyone has posted on here, but is there a more detailed explanation for doing this now? I found a mapping that someone uploaded to DJ Tech Tools, but I (and others), can't seem to get the mapping to work correctly.

    Here's a link to the page: https://maps.djtechtools.com/mappings/319

I attempted to modify the map settings myself, but no results. As you can see from the attached video on the Tech Tools page, this idea is definitely possible.

Anyways, thanks in advance for any assistance someone may have for this!

Ok, so to do this you will need to set up a scrolling modifier on the knob that makes it counts up/down as you twist it. Then set up diferent layers of Beat Phase Outputs on the diferent mod counts... does that make sense?

You will want to have one normal BPO happening on m1=0, Two halftime BPOs on m1=1, Three 1/3 time BPOs on m1=2, and Four 1/4 BPOs on m1=3. I hope that helps! :D

Here's something that I haven't been able to find as of yet, so I'm thinking it might be of use. Check the attached photos. The 1st is the top of the list of the "Assignment Table" under "Controller Manager" inside the "Settings" section. The yellow highlighted line in pics 2-6, represents the last visible line in the previous image.

As for your suggestion, with the "different layers of Beat Phase Outputs on the different mod counts", are you saying that, for example, modifier m1=1 would have a value of 2. Or, that modifier m1=1 would have a value of 1? Forgive me, as I'm quite new to MIDI mapping, in general, especially with Traktor and Akai products.
