i suggest you immediately download the free Komplete 7 updates - Absynth, FM8, Massive - and make sure you play all of them in Standalone Mode. and then on Monday you can try them with the Maschine 1.7 update ;)

you will need to use Save as in Maschine and create your own patches.

install Komplete 8, make sure you play all of the plugins in Standalone Mode.

to be safe, wait until Monday - when you will install the 1.7 update - before you use them in Maschine.

Yeah true, heres hoping eh? As I mess around with all Komplete instruments, integration would be nice without having to fork out more moolah...

To Sowari - Thats what I mean by forking out, I was not sure whether previous versions of Komplete would be integrated or will it just be Komplete 8.

Im sure this is gonna be great for everyone who uses this stuff but come 1.7 there will have been no major improvements when it comes to sampling for 2 updates. Edit mode playhead and multiple pad selection please NI. :)

i think ni are best when they listen to the user base i did not see a huge amount of requests from people asking to make komplete8 presets available from maschines controller.

so u wonder why they have made this the focus, i understand that its their product and they want it integrated but if there is no demand for this functionality from the user base why devote this whole update to developing the concept?

    exactly

first complaint people had when trying 1.6 "why can't we browse NI presets? This is stupid" lol

Anyway, if you use NI plugs or not, it's still an update, and updates show progress and commitment.

Some didn't like the 1.6 update, didn't do anything for their workflow. Some didn't like 1.5, same reason. Some won't like 1.7, 1.xx or 2.xx or whatever.

Even if there is something I don't need or use personally, I see continued development as a plus.

And every update I've seen, was based heavily on the users requests, not just random stuff. NI gets feedback from a lot of placed, not just this forum.

They do listen to their user base. You don't think browsing the presets via the controller makes te workflow a lot faster? Im guessing you just wanted more sampling features and time stretching?

Underwhelmed. Too few tag levels and confusing implementation. Joshua seems to be unimpressed, too ;)

And for all this little bit a new preset format was necessary and Kore had to be discontinued?

    Lame.

I can agree I do wanna see more tag levels. unfortunately I can't see that happening unitl they do a big ass update cause thats gonna change the way everything is tagged and organized. considering we just got vst support I kinda expected the next update to be more house keeping etc. but hey I'll take any free update that adds stuff to my maschine.
as for k7 instruments. yeah the free updates for em should give u all the same preset stuff going on inside of mashine like K8 does. (of course minus stuff like GR5)
I am excited to see where we go from here. I can understand the logic. I love the idea of easily running through presets. gonna make grabbing effects onto sounds alot quicker especially for guitar rig cause right now It feels slow for me to pull it up just for using reflektor or something. (which btw I don't have cpu issues with GR4 in my macbook pro core 2 duo)
just glad they are staying busy unlike some other virtual beat machine apps...

I think the limited tag columns is due to the space on the hardware for knobs in the browser. I think they could squeeze one more level from it by letting button 5 cycle the file type filter. Past that it would need new hardware with a dedicated button for that to free up the LCD for more tag lanes.

Let's face it, all the things people asked for will come with Maschine 2.0.

NI is too smart to kill the goose that lays the golden eggs, which is totally fine btw.

Browsing presets only from NI plugs is weak. Third party plugs would be nice.
    Just my two cents.
