small updates that should be created from day 1 in the pc world of today should not be paid for, never should have been and never will be....

if Ni plans to overamp the whole way the interface looks, and gives us a huge updated sample library, sure ill pay for 2.0. but otherwise no thanks...

i mean how much do they expect? 40 bucks? for some guy to code multicore? come on its 2011.

if my memory is correct, version 2.0, 3.0, etc, updates are pretty big and significant.
so hopefully a version 2 update won't just include one feature request.

I'm hoping that Ni will also fix/enhance the sampler options. Better zooming, O cross snapping. A template that saves the poly, choke and adsr/oneshot settings. Things like that.

Top of my list, better performance. There are some terrible glitches in there.
Loaded a Transistor Punch project and it runs at 25% on CPU bar while it's turned off. Running it keeps giving dropouts no matter I do to the KA6 buffers.
Load up a much more complex 1.5 project, no CPU at idle and it plays with no dropouts.
I have a pattern with one sound in it and it also glitches like hell.
Not consistently good or bad basically.

th1.7 should have it to where when youre browsing samples, if you have a sample selected and you press the right arrow key or single click the highlighted sample it previews again... instead of having to go to the next sample and back.

also sometimes when scrolling through samples they dont preview all the time. sometimes i get no preview for 5 or 6 samples but when i go back to them they will

    hate it!

o yeah, and put an info pane at the bottom of the maschine interface please

hold shift and hit the module slot above the lcds to disable them and then there will be no cpu hit at all, mute does not disable

I'm not having any performance issues on a 2.4ghz c2d laptop. I override my cpus throttling with an app called throttlestop though, makes a huge difference.

    round robin?

ok so I think as a sequencer, this would be useful, right?

Talk about wild speculation: check out the latest edition of FutureMusic magazine for some extreme Maschine 2.0 guesswork!

I've been involved in MIDI since when it first came out. I'm a guitarist, and use sequencing primarily to make backing tracks for solo performance.. So I'm not coming from the "blurp, squeak, fart" school, or the "concert for freight train and sparrow" school.

I use Ableton Live as my main DAW, and finally decided to check it out with the ads that it was now integrated into Ableton Live. Imagine my surprise when (as the first thing I tried to do) I attempted to drag and drop my live clips into Maschine. Not only that, I then discovered I could even import them from SMF files in folders on my computer; the ONLY way to get my library working in Machine was to play them in Ableton while recording them in Maschine.....

I almost sent it back on the spot... I am three days into working with it now, to use it as a way of embellishing my existing tracks. I also have Guitar Rig 4 Pro, an APC40, and Audio Kontrol 1. I now think that with the exception of the MIDI import issue, Maschine is a brilliant integration with the above gear, even if the sequencing editing leaves a lot to be desired (it isn't even close to what is available in Sonar Producer X1, which I also have).

However, the sound libraries are first rate (although with all the handclaps, they STILL don't have sharp clear handclap appropriate to Flamenco). That (so far) is the major reason why I haven't sent it back for an MPD controller or a padKontrol, since Ableton's options are fairly complete ....

I have gotten it to do most of what I expected from reading the reviews and the hype, so I'm 80% sure at this point that I'll be keeping it.

But, NO Midi import? (let alone drag and drop)? So if I create a complex MIDI pattern and save it to my desktop to tweak it in Sonar, there is no way of getting it back into Maschine short of *recording* it? Sheesh............

    So I guess I'm a happy camper.. I think.... maybe... I hope.... :S

hopefully this will be your last post on the lack of MIDI Import

anyway, you can always record MIDI into maschine and that includes MIDI Files.

You can drag and drop MIDI patterns directly into DAWs from Maschine. You don't have to save it to the desktop first.

I've decided that for $600 I can't live with Maschine's limitations (there are a few others I've discoverd). Close but no cigar. I'm returning it for my money back, and am outta here until things improve....

    Hasta la vista, baby...:)

well we are coming onto 1.7 soon and thats not really too far to go till 2.0 if u ask me...

now it better be a serious update. because if you asked me would i have paid for any of the updates on maschine so far? the answer would be no...

content library update was poor as usual...
and 64bit wow, we should have had that standard... its been many years since 64 bit...

2.0 better be pretty good if you're asking me for an update...

and what do i recon... well ill say 2012 will have some new shitty maschine add ons like transistor punch was etc... and when 2.0 comes they will say "HEY GUYS! all maschine add on packs included also in 2.0 update"

so all the people who paid for these packs... (your next ones better be good NI)
    have just been slonged again...

    Not even VST/VSTi hosting?

I probably wouldn't have purchased Maschine if that wasn't in there..

LOL The Transistor Punch soundpack is not "shitty". It's actually quite highly regarded and rightly so.
