See there has been this war raging since the beginning between people who knew what complete midi implementation was and tried to improve on the omissions and those who had know clue what the omissions even were but decided to rail against anyone trying to improve maschine up to the basic standards of every aspect of maschine, frustrating to say the least, ........ Personally I believe that this is why the improvements on the most basic of things have taken so long.

This is why you are having the discussion that you're having with ghost, the money has never been the issue, it's that midi import should have been there since day one and has been addressed by the user base since day one but wasn't addressed by ni until now + a charge.
Allot of people feel like you should have known what you paid for when you bought maschine at 1.0 , but that only applies to the above standard features, no one could have imagined that so many basic things were missing so people naturally assumed that a sequencer would do xyz, a sampler would do xyz, a songmode would at least do xyz, multicore, etc.... Ad allot of people were sadly mistaken but thought well ok this will be cleared up in a hurry
Only to get some other nice features like time stretch etc... With no fundamental basics to speak of, the things you need to make a groove box work.

Now thankfully and gratefully those basic needs look like they are coming in and finally the days of augmenting maschine with full fledged daws just to get basic groove box features looks like its coming to an end.
I can't wait til they drop the manual on us so we can see what's under the hood of this great looking update.

Sorry to interrupt with this stupid question... Will I/you be able to run this new Maschine as a standalone ( without computer connected since it needs a power adaptor) ?

That would be a nice surprise but there's no indication of that yet.

Dude, let it go. No one cares. Go start your own "I told you so" thread if it's that important to you. Talk about Maschine, not your supposed personal victory over other members.

There are no audio inputs or outputs, so no, it won't run as a standalone unit.

It seems that most people never tried Maschine at the inception so they never knew it was removed.
Lets hope it's not like in Multi in Traktor where they tell you to disable it for better CPU performance.

Never really understood how that made sense?

Is it multicore they recommend deactivating, or hyperthreading? Because most audio applications don't play well with hyperthreading cores.

    i just did my preorder

I hope I don't have to touch my computer to apply to macro
there will be a moment for real time audio stretching, I think

This tool contains almost all I need.
a good multi band compressor will be cool in Komplete
And a spectrum is needed, if you call it a 'studio', I think

I don't understand so many people are complaining

NI does what they have to do (again)
Now it's time for traktor to open for Maschine

you have to know where you come from to know where you're going and know what you're talking about. Remain ignorant on your own time but please don't get in the way, obstruct, or be rude to people trying to improve maschine on this forum.

most don't know that the swing works in a weird way either, there's so much hating on this forum about being educated about this instrument we all love, I hope the swing is fixed in the update and I can't wait to get my hands on it.

I wonder if there will be a smaller version aimed at the akai studio or if they'll let the mk2 hold that spot. There's more support for a version with an internal soundcard than I expected I wonder if they'll give that a second thought as well.

I think the next maschine or as I like to think of it the MK 4 will have the audio i/o we want with a $1,500 price tag to match. I think for what you get that $1,000 price tag is justified on the studio even without the audio i/o

I think that €999 price tag is down purely to those fancy new screens...

I agree that it's worth the asking price especially since or hopefully since it should come in closer to $800 round the time the jitters settle down.
And if they got it to be where it really should be without a doubt I' drop the funds on it, it's like the equivalent of a $6000 guitar for only a G
