    Hi all,

I recently got the upgrade to Maschine 2.0, after upgrading to Mavericks, in combination with Maschine Mk1.

I followed the setup-guide for Maschine 2.0 to the letter.

I decided to go through all documentation first, the same way I did when I started using Maschine, simply to come to grips with any changes in the software-hardware-combo.

This morning I began going through the 'Maschine Mk1 / Maschine 2.0 Getting started' manual, and already encountered a problem on page 37 (and following). Again, I followed everything to the letter of the afore mentioned document.

    I'll try and describe:

3.2.1.2 Selecting another Snare Sample using the MASCHINE MK1 Controller

    ...

    8. Turn Knob 1 until the Type field is set to SNARE.

The only options I get in the typefield are: 'conan..rdens', 'drums', 'loops', and 'one shots'. The type field ‚snare’ doesn’t come up.

The workaround appears to be: ‚drums’, then ‚snare’, then ‚sidestick’

    ...

    10. Once you have found a nice side stick sample, press Button 8 to load it into the Soundslot currently selected (the one triggered by pad 6).

No matter what sample I choose to replace the one from pad 6, I can prehear all samples, but when i press 'load', it simply doesn’t load.

    Any help?

Thank you very much in advance!

    Thanx for your reply!

However, I already tried that, didn't work either, the sample just won't load..

Yesterday I tried the exact same operation with Maschine 1.8, and everything worked perfectly, so I'm guessing that maybe this is some kind of a bug?

just curious...what happens if you bypass the hardware? i.e. on the computer, choose the sound slot that represents one of the 16 pads, then double-click the sound from the browser that you want to load?

the problem still remains, after several monts of figuring out what the problem could be..

I tried using the computer only (bypassing the hardware as Antona1 suggested): i can prehear the sounds, I can load them in slot 6, but then they won't play in the pattern I created..

Everything is completely up to date, and i'm experiencing no problems whatsoever in Maschine 1.8, so I'm using that for the most part.

Still, shelling out 99 € for software that's hardly usable is a serious let-down, I've got several expansions that only work in 2.1.0, while the only correct working software version I have is Maschine 1.8, glad I didn't erase it!

There is no issue whatsoever with loading samples in Maschine 2. It works with Mavericks or any supported OS. If something as simple as this did not work it would make the software nearly unusable and this forum would be in an uproar over it.

To the OP, I'm thinking you have an issue with your mixer settings or routing to where the audition bus is turned up but the master is turned down. That or you have the main out routed to an inoperable output on your sound card.

It can also be that you have your sounds routed to the cue bus instead of the master. If you have a default project set up then remove it from preferences so it can load in factory default. Are you able to get sound from any of the synthesizers such as Massive? How about loading a drum synth? Have you checked your i/o routing in audio midi settings? What about the routing in the channel page? Do you have the sound muted?

Also keep in mind that if you are auditioning samples the prehear is obviously on. Scrolling through the samples and auditioning them with prehear does not load them to the pad. You have to press load to load them. You can also use the previous next buttons or push the jog to load.

This is because this is a multi velocity sample and it is being mapped to a restricted sample zone. I think this is a bug though because these samples should still be mapped across the full keyrange and velocity range when loaded separately as that is the normal behavior. It only happens on a select few samples that are mapped to restricted key or velocity ranges. I reported this a while ago.

The Maschine 1.x user samples do not show up in Maschine 2 initially. They are separate applications and you need to use the import Maschine 1.x format in the file menu to import your Maschine 1 user folder. Only use that on your user data and nothing that is factory. Maschine 2 has it's own factory library that must be installed which is a separate download and installer. It either came with your new hardware or if upgrading it needs to be downloaded and installed. This is unrelated to this thread though. Do a search on the topic if you need further help or call support.

    Thanks for your reply.

However, if there wasn't any problem loading samples, I wouldn't have posted my question here, would I? The samples simply won't load, no matter if prehear is on or off. The problem is the same in both software and hardware.

Mixer settings haven't been touched, routing has been the same ever since i first installed Maschine (and had zero problems until I installed Maschine 2). I don't see how the audition bus could be turned up and the master turned down, I can honestly say I've never touched any of those settings. If the main out would be routed to an inoperable output on my soundcard (?), I wouldn't have any sound at all, or am I mistaken? In any case, I've never ever touched any of the settings you mentioned.

I just noticed there is a new maschine-update, I'll install that, I'll also check all settings you've mentioned and report back later.

Dj.com I would suggest making a movie showing a sample that plays after being loaded and one that doesn't. I'd also recommend you show all the settings mentioned by b-righteous...

    Is this actually resolved yet?
I seem to have the same problem, beeing able to pre-hear samples but once loaded onto a pad they don't make a noise anymore.
The hard and software does show the sample loaded in, and putting other samples on the pad makes them hit.
It's really a certain set of samples that don't make sound when loaded up, I've tried loading them on another pad and the same (silent) result.

Any temporary solution, at least, like turning the velocity layering off or something?

    Edit:
Sorry for the bump btw but this is exactly the problem I seem to be having.

    Windows 8.1, 64 bit.

Have not checked recently but I do not remember the issue being set to resolved so the bug may still be there with certain samples. Go to sampling>zones and take a look if the sample is mapped to a small velocity range and or key range. You may need to manually correct.

Thanks, I'll check that out and report back.

    Edit:
Setting the zone of the sample to take use all velocities, across the entire keyboard range, was indeed the solution.

    Fixed for me, thanks B-Righteous!
