Solved Maschine 2.13 - Knobs Not Responding Correctly With Waves Plug-ins (MAS2-28665)

did you have some sort of auto updater enabled.

 

Sorry to report it came back (the mouse bug). No auto updater enabler, no.

 

since last update i experience another very strange Waves-Maschine-behaviour. all my waves plugins (that i still cant control inside maschine, but only in its native GUI) now also show up useless. the GUI now is totally disfunctional, with a big red part and a minimised window with the plugin, but even that cant be controled anymore with the mouse. see the attached screenshot. it only happens with waves plugins. seems like i am not able to use these plugins nomore...anyone else with this?

 

Same here, just updated to 2.14.3 (R891) and can not use the mouse to adjust any knobs once a waves plug in is loaded, they just glitch out when trying to adjust, also find this doesn't happen with a clean (empty racks) start, but as soon as a waves plugin is inserted then all knobs become unusable through the mouse, removing the inserted waves plugin does not fix the problem until restart. Really wish I had learned my lesson from last time and not bothered to update as the updates seem to bring more problems than they fix.

 

I encountered many different bugs in 2.14.3. it works but many small bugs everywhere but in the meantime seams stable CPU wise

 

still occurs with mercury v12.1 and abbey road that installs waves shell 12.7 and 12.8.. i have not seen any updates beyond that. these are the latest waves version available to date.

running 2.14.3 with this version does not fix it.

 

I think it would be nice if NI can give us a technical explanation what's going on here, and why Waves plugins behave in this way in Maschine in the latest Maschine releases. Understanding why might help to reduce some of the frustration.

You're right, I tried to get more info on the subject and this is what the Maschine team said : "we did a fix for supporting BigSur that affected mouse handling and input. While our fix was correct it obviously clashed with how the Wave plugins were implemented. Turned out that their implementation was wrong, but only our fix for BigSur made it show up. So the issue was always there but they were kind of “lucky” that we handled it differently before so it didn’t show up for users."

any date on a fix for this... i have yet to see a waves update in wave central, but is does show me new ads... wish waves would fix this before having their next perpetual sale.

 

No Waves Plugins, no WUP renewal until it's clear that they have fixed it!

 

This is so so frustrating. Why can't NI and Waves co-operate to fix this issue which is really crucial for us who is working more with the software knobs than the hardware dito? Now I have to replace the waves plugins with similar once so I can work with the latest Maschine update. I have about 50 projects that I haven't finished so it's so time consuming...

 

I dumped them. Such a waste of money

 

Waves V13 has just been released. Maybe that helps.

 

Yeah, I noticed that. Here is what they written: "Fixed: Maschine knobs no longer glitchy within Pro Tools when Waves plugins are present."
Wonder if that is for the standalone and Logic version also....

i can confirm the knobs work as expected as well

there is still one issue, and it probably has to do with permissions during install and/or app permissions since it would work if you have a previous version installed on some OS's

there are no images, listings in browser, or presets of nks waves plug-ins under big sur (as well 10.15 if a newbie)

from waves site:

"Please note: Temporarily, parameter mapping and preset browsing via KOMPLETE KONTROL and MASCHINE are not possible on macOS 11 Big Sur, or on macOS 10.15 systems that never had Waves installed on them, as necessary NKS components cannot be installed at this time. We are working to fix this as soon as possible."
