    Hi

I can't seem to update at all.
    I download from Native Acess
The update fails, because it couldn't uninstall.
A link in the error takes me to a uninstall tool by NI
    I uninstalled.
Native Access now tells me the installation is broken
    I restart the computer.
Now, Maschine does not show up as an available update any longer, but I am still on 2.14.5

I have a bunch of other updates available in Native Access on plugins, but I am holding back on this, because this whole "uninstall, oh it's broken" looks really really unsettling.

Anyone know what best to do, now?

I did all the plugin updates, and the only thing I notice is that passive eq uses an abnormal amount of cpu, like 2/3 % more than usual, other than that vst2/vst3 performances seems abosloutely the same, and I still don't get what vst3 brings, but it works as usual anyway. I donwgraded machine to 2
14.5 because it works better for me, even it crashes more than 2.14.4. the last machine update is simply unusable for me, it changed mix balance of every track, crashes on every attempt to record automation. I don't know for arm Cpu users though

Note just because it's VST3 it does not mean there are implementations of the new features it has over VST2. Some things are automatic I think, like staying in a deactivated standby mode when no audio is going thru the plug, which helps CPU-wise, allegedly.

I monitored this in Ableton only since the Maschine version was not working, since ableton does this with vst both FX chains I tested where stopping taking up cpu when no sound was passing through. I thought an improvement from vst2 to 3 would be having more than 1 sidechain source for exemple.

I'm mainly interested in VST3 because
    • It natively supports MIDI 2.0
    • Supports MPE
    • Allows proper inter-plugin sidechaining

Until NI introduces such features, VST3 versions are irrelevant to me

thank you for clarifying. I heard all what midi 2.0 is supposed to bring, but since the introduction of api and python scripting, I always wondered where was the difference, since py programming seem to open an unlimited amount of controls (but as a noob I just don't know). what device do you know that allows inter-plugin sidechaining ?

There's loads of stuff... There's more IO and it's more flexible which probably relates to your sidechain example, it can read info from the DAW track the plug is inserted on, it can communicate with other VST3 plugs in the same project, access to multiple MIDI ports, automation categorization, resizable GUI's, MPE, etc...
Some of the new features could do cool things for plugs like Maschine, if implemented.

so can someone tell me how I can downgrade the newest OS to older one ?
I am also having some super weird behaviour, so random, it's impossible to describe without long video..
In general my entire audio/midi setup (working flawlessly before) has gone wild, and I thought it could relate to Maschine update, which I did without thinking..:(, as usually I do not update for months (I have learnt that in a hard way updating Traktor too often - as they released update- I did updated, and had some unpleasant situations on-stage) Fos some weird reason (I am reluctant to update drivers, plugins, and others, just having bad experience in past with updates being faulty, and thus disarming my audio/midi setup)
Why I am updating Maschine not thinking about how in general updates work ?:)

would appreciate links to older OS and instruction how to downgrade without too much collateral

We kind of need to know what OS you have to even start giving any sort of advice. (OS = Operating System, either Mac or Win)

    Hello all,

My Maschine MK3 + 2.14.6 (R4) freezes when recording any automation.

    Environment:
    Windows 10

    Steps to reproduce:
Load any NI default instrument: Kick, Tom, Bass Synth, whatever
Step sequence some notes in step mode.
Go to instrument view clicking BROWSER twice (modifying parameters works (filter, cutoff, anything).
Then: Go to STEP mode and WHILE keeping some of the step notes pressed, modify any parameter know to save any automation.
    Maschine freezes.

    Please help!

    Thanks,

    Alejandro.-

I also get the terrible noise randomly when opening projects.

I've also noticed that I got a lot of doubble-triggers on the mk3-pads after the update and that has never happened before. Anyone else experienced that?

I wonder if this means Reason 11 will now work natively on Maschine without using the work around VST3 wrapper.
    Has anyone tested this?

NI really needs to release a fix for the loud noise ASAP, as it could cause permanent damage to speakers, headphones and even our ears.
This needs to be priority #1.

You are right. Regrettably Christmas and New Year holiday period has started.
After that the Devs have to start remembering what to do and to resume work again. I would expect nothing before end of January 2022.
