Why are forums for beat production gear full of people complaining about things and treating each other so nasty?

Op-1. Elektron. Muffwiggler. Ableton. You would think from reading these forums that gear makers are greedy warmongers determined to disappoint users.

Because when thousands of people who spend hundreds or thousands of dollars on your brand AND NI offers a platform for said consumers to voice what options are most wanted......you are KIND OF supposed to listen.

    Market fundamentals 101

All the time spend here people discussing and discussing... as if they have nothing else to do in life with their time, like making some music maybe? And please don’t tell me Maschine‘s shortcomings are a reason for that. There are mio ways to reach your goal/sound.

I totally get that we all spend a good amount of money and expect certain things. But imo NI‘s products, Maschine in this example, is and was absolutely worth a 500-1000 Euro price tag for what it could do at the moment of buying. Plus there are free updates etc, good soundpacks synths on top. I mean you could inform yourself with specs on the website or in the forums etc.

Obviously some things are hilariously overlooked in the software and it still needs a lot but hey, i started with fast tracker and went on to make certified records with sonic foundry acid and a mouse and keyboard so you can make what you want with so many tools. Just all this complaining and discussing seems a bit unnecessary (and i am not talking about constructive criticism, feature suggestions, bug reports etc.). Now i flush the toilet...

P.S. ahahahaha Maschine is a dongle

You'd be surprised of how many people that make hits who complain about what we do. Their luxury is having other tools outside of Maschine to get the job done. Most users want to stay in the box and move freely throughout arrangement as much as possible without having to leave. You know what? Never mind. No wonder NI gets away with the stuff it does lol..

Do you have a life outside of this forum?

I read them all, you're annoying.

I am really loving the maschine software at this time. No issues here. Its funny watching everyone in tears over things they dont have instead of focusing on what they do.

i never use sync recording in maschine so that is why i don't notice, i record and sample as i desire and then always chop the silence off at the start, sometimes that silence is long as i just leave sampling going while i am playing around .

in cubase when i do record on auto sync my templates are setup to have a sample adjustment so the interface has no delay

i said a long time ago this place was getting worse than GS, reading this thread is like being over there on the day of a new Roland release

If NI are that bad sell up and move on, life is too short guys, i am off to make music on my no longer supported 32 bit version of maschine running on 10 year old hardware

not bad for a company that doesn't give a crap about it's customers eh :D

it's messed up up isn't it

elektron forums are actually the best out of the web imo - they used to be a bit worse due to trolls but that is easily fixed now by users having a fair bit of control, i spend a lot of time there and the arguing is pretty much zero

I think that developing a max the diverse integrations for existing daws that actually works well and are well coded would actually be more rewarding for them
Yesterday again I try the update, 4 groups and few 3rd party vst and it is lagging badly.
Use it as a VST in a well optimised program and you can almost triple that amount. Incredible...
On another hand the boatload of the stock plugins you can use is impressive if you only stick to that but what is the point . ..

It's because people are passionate. I don't think people treat each other nasty here, compared to other popular forums this one is pretty friendly. Open a thread asking a question here and do the same on a big forum and the replies will be much different.

Worst than GS!? :( I cant say I agree, GS is generally almost as toxic as a gaming forum.

I agree even though you'd be surprised by the number of lurkers who never comment.

I think the negativity comes out on software releases because a lot of people hang around here waiting for those releases to have the features they want (or that NI promised years ago), each time it doesn't users speak their mind, opinions are mixed with accumulated disappointment. Then there's the "vocal minority effect/silent majority", which is typical of the web in general:
Take a random high view youtube video, even when the Like count is 1000x bigger than the Dislikes the comment section often doesn't reflect the positive ratio, happy costumers simply don't comment as often as unhappy ones.

Masch1ne Your opinion is as valid as anyone else's but when you say things like: "Do you have a life" or "butthurt people" you end up instigating an aggressive dialog. Other users also said they're happy without being offensive towards the unhappy ones, users fighting against each other achieves nothing.

What about the mixer naming bug visible on MK1 and MK2 maybe on MK3 too?? Is this still a thing or did they fix it?

It's not in the release notes so probably not. What bug is that? Is there a thread about it?

Yep, it was mentioned around here many times. Sometimes it was fixed and in some other updates it was back again.

When hiting shift + sampling you'll see your mixer window and then you should see volume/pan control for each sample/sound in Scene but with a correct name. Like sound 1 would be Kick, sound 2 would be snare and sound 3 would be hi-hat.

The issue in 2.7.2 was that those names wasn't there and it was referenced as level 1 for sound 1, level 2 for sound 2, level 3 for sound 3 and so on.

Basically there were missing names, so you had to memorise them in order to control them. Which was somehow ruining a workflow.

I was wondering if they fixed it for a third time )))

It is true that 2.7.2 had plenty of misplaced areas.. Found so strange to see bugs come and goes on the same release as if the software is alive (wow that's deep)

I don't have that issue or haven't seen anyone claiming it's happening recently, so not sure if there's something to fix.

I personally experienced lots of controller bug lately. But only with the studio. Either it wouldn't connect and I would have to turn everything off(soft+control.) and on again. Or controller would kind of send wrong midi data on the grid or select the wrong sample in the browser like I preview kick 2 press load and it load kick 4. Idem for user plugins.
Didnt experience any of this with new update yet but only checked for 30/40mins or so last night. Will be the plan for the week end if big brother let me :p
