It used to show up, but it suddenly doesn't any more. I checked my plug ins under preferences in maschine and i can't even find "maschine 2 au" anywhere in it if it's supposed to be there. I check my hard drive and couldn't find any specific "maschine 2 (au)" there either. when trying to load maschine as a plug in within logic pro, SOMETIMES "maschine 2 MFX" shows up, but not all the time which is weird. I've tried with a variety of tracks (audio, software instrument) to no avail. I also checked my plug in manager within logic to make sure everything was checked and still nothing. I checked native access to make sure everything was installed (KUCE) and everything was fully installed. What am i doing wrong?

I realized maschine 2 MFX only shows up when i set it as a stereo input (1-2) but not a mono input (1). could it be my input settings that is causing maschine AU not to show up? I'm trying to set a multiout with maschine routing out to logic. I also am not sure what the difference is between maschine MFX and maschine AU....

i checked under Macintosh HD > Library > Audio > Plug-Ins > Components and i see "maschine 2" but am not sure if that is for the standalone or the plug in.

I just tried opening logic pro x in 32 bit mode, but the option is unavailable and i might need a third party plug in in order to open maschine AU inside of logic? could this be the problem?

I am confused... You're looking for the Maschine AU plugin to be listed inside Maschine? Why? Maschine doesn't show up inside itself.

That's the AU Plugin Version of Maschine (.component)
The Standalone is in your Applications folder (.app)

32Bit? Why!? Maschine is not supported under 32bit for a while now, (Catalina is dropping anytime now and it will be the end of 32bit generally in the Mac world.)
    https://www.native-instruments.com/forum/threads/no-more-32-bit-maschine.327847/

If Maschine doesn't show up inside Logic as an Instrument then reinstall it and rescan your plugins inside Logic's Plug-In Manager.

I have to get home and check, but the last time I updated was about two months ago. I see that I'm ready for another update but didn't have the time to do it before I left. I'll update before I reinstall to see if that works.
I might have this wrong, so sorry if I seem confused.

I'm trying to open maschine 2 AU inside of logic pro X, but the option is not available; only maschine 2 MFX is available under certain input settings. Disregard the 32 bit nonsense I was speaking of.

Should I reinstall Maschine 2 from native access to make the AU appear in my DAW? While I'm at it, kontakt and Reaktor and pretty much everything else as well since those aren't showing up either?

Just update Maschine through NA, rescan your Logic plugins and you should be good.

thank you, will do this right now.

as for the catalina update, i have a 2011 macbook pro and i can only update so far. currently on 10.13.6 on High Sierra. Do I have to worry about any compatibility issues in the near future as far as you're concerned? I am sure there will be a point where a certain NI update will no longer be compatible with my operating system???

i think the problem is logic pro X, because i can't even rescan my plug ins. when i try, the audio unit validation result is just blank and nothing happens. I researched and am getting answers ranging from upgrade your macOS which is the last thing i want to do considering my whole **** crashed the last time i did that and do not want to endure more headaches, so i guess i'll just uninstall and reinstall logic??

when i go into HD>library>components there is nothing in that folder. should there be?

but under library>audio>plug ins>components there is what i assume to be the desired audio unit file

i also have read this in regards to my problem "Method 2: Go to Macintosh HD/Users/Library/Cashes and move the com.apple.audiounits.cashe file to the trash and empty the trash bin. When you next restart Logic Pro it will do a fresh scan of any installed Audio Units and your plugin should now appear in the Audio Units list in Logic Pro."

but i do not have the com.apple.audiounits.cashe file in my system.

    okay.....well i used http://apps.tempel.org/FindAnyFile/ to findcom.apple.audiounits.cache and com.apple.audiounits.sandboxed.cache and it was under HD>USERS>library>caches>audiounitscache
i was going under HD>library>caches and couldn't find it.

anyway, i dragged those two files onto my desktop and restarted logic pro to force it to rescan, which it did, and i still have the same problem which is leading me to believe maschine is the culprit and not logic?? going to uninstall maschine and see what happens when i reinstall it and rescan.

Sounds like the AudioUnit cache file might have gotten corrupted, hard to know exactly. Glad it's working now!

For future reference, there are two Library folders:
    HD>Library
    HD>USERS>Your-Name>Library
The second is hidden by default so it won't show up in file searches unless you use an external app as you did. It's common for fix guides to tell you to look in one of those but the files end up being in the other one. Follow this small trick at the end of this article to make the user lib always visible:
    http://osxdaily.com/2016/12/12/show-user-library-folder-macos-sierra/

    No, it's either: HD>library>audio>plug ins>components or HD>Users>Your-Name>library>audio>plug ins>components
To make your life easier drag the plugins folder to your favorites in Finder, I find this a lifesaver because often plugins dont have uninstallers and i try a lot of crap.

    Oh..
It depends on what you consider "near" future, if this trend of OSX having a new major version every year continues in about 3 years or so I expect a lot of new versions of software to only be compatible with Catalina+. NI currently officially supports Mojave + 2 versions behind (Sierra and High Sierra)... So, there's a high chance that 2 versions after Catalina support for Sierra/High Sierra and possibly Mojave are dropped.

Thanks for that tip! You're a lifesaver.

Looks like I'll have to save up for a new computer soon..this is what I dislike the most about macs. The almost seemingly forced updates and such. But I guess that might happen with any company??

    No problem.
Well... To be fair 8-12 years is a pretty good run for a computer IMO.
The only realistic alternative is Windows, from my understanding Windows is better in this context, afaik Win10's minimum requirements are very low so any laptop can have it installed although a really old computer with a very modern OS/SW can be a bad idea since it's likely to slow down the computer.
I have been on Mac for more than a decade and am contemplating switching to windows for my laptop, the price-to-performance ratio is much better.

it seriously is. It will just be a headache switching to a new DAW since I use Logic Pro. While i'm at it, i might as well switch to samsung due to every single apple product I have ******* up and finding my own solutions to fix it since Apple overcharges and scams people. Then I'm worried about the massive quantities of photos and such i've had for years in iphoto and not to mention music in itunes. How would you even go about all of that?!? I figure i might as well just lay down and take the constant rape at this point.

Well, you can go the easy route and just buy an Apple laptop in the used market. Settling for being raped is an odd concept ahahah :D
To be fair.. you havent upgraded in 9 years dude, you have to consider that.

Switching the DAW would be the biggest headache, this is one the of main reasons why I dont use Logic and never will, it can be another trap to keep you in, by using cross-compatible daws (which are all the other ones) you're safe to open all your projects if you ever switch. I am considering stop using Final Cut for this reason.

Personally I am OK with iPhone, I upgrade every 5 years or so, one of my bandmates is sponsored by Samsung so shes always has the latest one, It's cool but dont envy it then again I dont spend barely any time on my phone. You can download your whole Photo archive from iCloud/iPhone and then just put it in the new phone. (as well as contacts, notes, etc...)

yea, all the money I spent on upgrading my specs I should've spent on an actual new computer. But I was far from a techie and didn't know ****.

I didn't know final cut was Mac only. What DAW do you think would be the smoothest transition from logic?

I'm honestly just acting out against Apple because of my recent experiences with them. They'd get thousands more from me if I wasn't broke enough to learn how to fix my own stuff

Not sure, I barely use it so I am not the best person to advise on that.

I'm having this same stupid issue as well. What I find is that the Maschine 2 plug in is crashing in Logic. My macbook pro is fairly new I just got it end of 2020 and it's almost decked out so I don't think it's cause you have an old computer. I constantly get a crashed validation when I try to load the plug in. This will be such a disappointment if I can't get this resolved cause I bought a macbook and upgraded to an MK3 just to work with Logic. Thinking at this point I should of just stuck to a PC and ProTools. Mac seems more tedious than PC. IMO
