    Hello all,

I've been attempting to install the Maschine 2 software on a fresh install of Windows 10 without any success. Soon after starting, the install program gives me this message: "Access violation at address 72FC9300. Read of address 72FC8300". After getting this error message several times, the computer freezes and I'm forced to restart.

Here are several things I have tried to solve the issue:
    • Redownloading the installer
    • Disabling Windows Defender
    • Running the installer as an administrator
    • Creating a new Administrator account and trying to run the installer from there
    • Turning off the Windows 10 User Access Controls (UAC)
The Maschine Studio is not connected to the PC while attempting to run the installer. Has anyone else encountered this issue and, if so, how did you fix it? Does anyone have any suggestions as to what might be happening here? Thanks!

    Hi VitaminH,

This is a Windows error message not related to any issues we are aware of. But let us try the following:

Do you have installed the Asustek AI Suite II? If so, could you uninstall it?
Then try the Maschine installer again.

    All the best,
    Peter

    Hi Peter,

Thank you for your response. I do not have the Asustek AI Suite currently installed on my computer.

In case it is helpful, I've attached a couple of screenshots of the error messages I'm receiving.

You can also try memtest86 and let it test your RAM this windows massage is normally a sign of an defective Ram.

Thanks for the suggestion, Uwe. I ran memtest86 and the program completed with no errors. Would you recommend running memtest86 multiple times or does it generally pick up errors in defective RAM on the first pass?

No one pass is enough, yo could also try to analyze partitions for errors by open file explorer right click on the patition then select properties/tools tab then analyze or something like that.

I just scanned the drive and no errors were reported.

A small update: if I run the installer and choose to install only the Maschine Studio controller and Komplete Kontrol driver (see attached picture), I still get the Access Violation error messages, but the installer finishes without freezing my PC. I am then able to run the Maschine 2 software, but my Maschine Studio unit is not recognized and does not function.

    Hi VitaminH,

Could you create a ticket with our Technical Support team who will need to take a more in-depth look at this issue you are having. You can create a ticket from the following link:

    https://www.native-instruments.com/en/support/contact-support/tech-support-form/

Please include screenshots of the errors you get while running the installation as well as more detailed information about how exactly the Maschine controller is not working.

    Thanks in advance,
    Peter
