Yeah like i said you need to use a mouse or the hardware, Maschines interface is the worst i have ever seen on any touch device, fine with hardware or mouse ;)

Oh yeah, you did mention that. Forgot and didn't notice it again when I quickly scanned before posting. It's a shame, but not unexpected...

I just ordered the new T100 Chi, apparently it comes with a good stylus, will this work? Suppose you could use the touch pad but I generally hate those.

If not might just skip machine and just put Abe on it instead. Getting a mouse out on a train isn't that practical!

Wireless trackball mice help lots for travelling.

Honestly i did this as an experiment, the size was just about workable with Reaper and unusable with Maschine unless you use a mouse or the hardware.
It is not a mobile solution and it is honestly a faster workflow on screen using my phone with Caustic (which has a better sample editor than the piss poor effort in Maschine, give us use external editor NI, fools)
Caustic is faster, easier to use, and has some better features than maschine for $10 or whatever it costs, that is a mobile solution.

Hopefully the track pad will work ok then for on the move tuning.

Caustic is great indeed to "scribble" some ideas down.
Love the modular synth! (You can actually build your own synth from scratch, using small modules like a filter, single oscillators and LFO's).
Caustic is free for PC and MAC, to be found HERE.

Coming back to using Maschine on a tablet, I agree it's practically unusable without the hardware connected.
The only thing I use it for without, is making massive synths and whatnot.

For the record, if anybody hasnt got an audio editor for use with Maschine yet (On Windows you should have wavosaur at lest, its free) the dev of Caustic has a great free one too ;) (Win/Android/OSX/IOS i think)

Back to the tablet, those Atoms kick ass for Massive if you just wanted Massive on stage using a controller with dials, plenty of CPU.

Well I pick up my T100 Chi tomorrow and will report back on its performance. I am not expecting it to worry my desktop but if at least it can keep me entertained on long train journeys etc it will be a boom. The ipad is slick but the closed system is annoying.. It makes sense on the phone (cos i need my phone to keep workin) but on a computer it just feels restrictive.

Ok, the Chi wasn't great and it went back, the dial control from a stylus, the screen or the track pad was poor. :(

On the plus side though I went a bit mad and bought a macbook pro instead! :)

I'm having a bit pricier Teclast X98 incoming soon, really looking forward on dedicating it to power Maschine on my mostly HW setup and controlling Behringer X-Air XR18 mixer!
