    Hi!

How can I activate/deactivate a whole plugin in ableton using the MCU mode of maschine?
I mean, parameters are not the problem, they show up, but where is the "main" switch of the plugin?

I think this question will adress the MCU pros here.

    thanks

If you mean MCU stands for Midi Controller, that's all that Maschine is to Ableton in that sense. It is not a plug-in in Midi Control mode. You would have to be using the VST to use switches. I guess the question is more towards Ableton and what you can and cannot map to a MIDI Controller, whether there is a master "switch" on the MIDI controller for something like a "Global Record" function in Ableton.

Check your MIDI mapping options in Ableton. The same would go with other DAW's that have a MIDI-Learn functionality like Sonar.

MCU is mackie control emulation mode. Not sure how to bring up the Vst but maybe you can check it out on the Controller editor software. All the mappings can be seen with that.

Yes, Mackie Control Universal mode. Bringing up the vsts and internal effects is not the problem, but I need to know where to switch effects entirely on/off.

..because of "fireing up" some chorus, reverb etc at given times.

It´s possible to use the mix value on each effect though, but that´s not the best solution.

I suppose what you are asking is how to activate/ deactivate the bypass button for a plug in using maschine in midi control mode.

    1. Double click on the track with the plug in you want to control.
    2. Click on the MIDI map button at the top right of the screen.
    3. At the bottom of the screen click on the bypass button of the plug in
    4. Press a pad, button or turn a knob on maschine, (while being in midi control mode)

if you did this right a white box will pop up as soon as live receives a midi message and the parameter will be mapped

    5. click on MIDI at the top of the screen to exit mapping mode and eazy peezy done
    takes 2 seconds.
    ---
1 thing I forgot to add is you that need to set whatever button you map to the bypass to "TOGGLE" in the Maschine controller editor. And if you use a knob it has to be set to "BIPOLAR". Or else it will turn the bypass on but not off.
    ---
just to clarify this, there is no bypass switch on the plug-in GUI itself. It's on the Ableton live mini box of the plug in. Its the first button(circle) at the top of the little box.

    Thanks!

Too bad there is no switch in the UI. So every used effect bypass switch has to be added manually, on every single project.
