I've been killing myself trying to find this out but, how can I use the Maschine Midi Controller to control thre drumskits from Ultrabeat? Is there acertain template that Maschine needs to be set to or maybe you can't control Ultrabeat from the Machine controller?

Can someone help me with this issue?

yeah, same here... id love to be able to control all my plugins and live rewired using only the scenes in maschine.... it's shouldn't be that hard, all that need to be done is having a pad on a pattern triggering the plug or ableton live, just a note sent to a specific midi track and channel would solve it... i use some plugs as µtonic and thesys that work with patterns as well....

maschine dream -> on logic as a plugin controlling everything just with maschine scenes...

for now, for µtonic i'm bouncing each pattern separate and loading it into maschine...

i know this would be easy on the standalone or even ableton live, but no matter how hard i try, i have difficulties letting logic go.. i love it...

    any one could help?

a couple of things, sorry but both of you guys should spend some time putting beats together in Maschine, it really is worth the effort. imho, Maschine is much easier to use than Ultrabeat.

back to your questions, what do you mean by using the Maschine Controller to control the drumskits from Ultrabeat?

do you want to use the Maschine Pads to trigger the Ultrabeat Sounds? can you be more specific.

and you guys do know that you can get the Maschine Controller to play other - non Maschine Software Sounds - by pressing Shift + Control?

    Sowari,

I want to use the Maschine Pads to trigger the Ultrabeat Sound drumkits however, Im not sure if I'm setting the Maschine up properly during midi. Is there a certain template that I need to set on Maschine to trigger the pads in Logic? Also, is there a certain setting that I to change Logic to in order for the Maschine drum pads to respond? Or is there a way to take all the sounds from the Ultrabeat kits and run them through Maschine. I hope you can help with this.

I just bought Maschine 3 weeks ago. I converted from an MPC 1000 so I'm use to the playing the drums from Ultrabeat via midi from the MPC.

to be honest, i don't use the ultrabeat for drums... just maschine.. i use µtonic and thesys, they both work as pattern mode... just would be AWESOME if u could stick all patterns in my life on machine's scene! got it?
so i could use even more the machine.... **** this auto-correct, sorry MASCHINE...

to bad it doesn't load plugs into the daw, like kore.... i've tried to go all way maschine or even live, but i can't leave logic!

yeah, i know i could use the editor and simply do a template for it... but on logic, those programs can change the patterns either by keys or PC too...

if i could have a group, that only sends a note specifically to a midi channel, i could control it all on maschine! got it?

i just need to have a group of midi out pads sending midi notes! not using the midi mode! i want to have it all on machine!

i still feel it is best that you bite the bullet and learn how to make beats in Maschine and not try to use it as a substitute MPC.

also the Maschine LIbrary is for my tastes much better than the Ultrabeat Library

    however:

pressing Shift + Control switches Maschine between MIDI and Control Mode.
have you tried doing that? do your maschine Controller displays change?

when you use the Maschine Controller to play other plugins, remember that the Group buttons transpose the notes that the Pads send to your DAW. you will need to press the different Group buttons and Play the Pads to find out which range of notes will trigger Sound in Ultrabeat. Group plays low notes and Group H very high notes.

could you try to get the Maschine Controller to play Logic's ES1 Synth just to make sure things are working?

back to the MPC 1000. did you program Patterns in the MPC and send them to LOgic via MIDI?

but you can do that with Maschine since 1.6.2.

but yes, you can still do that with Kore.

please just use the default preset, you don't need to use the Mackie Template.

I agree with Sowari, life's easier in Maschine.

But having said that, I make dance music and use lots of loops and sidechain compression. I use Maschine in Live from time to time. I stretch my loops to the tempo I'm working in, quantize (read: set) my warp markers to the beat, and sample into Maschine for chopping. Then send my kicks and synths back into Live for sidechaining.

I've tried to do all this with Logic Pro and Maschine, fail.

I really wish Maschine could sidechain. I can live without timestretching in Maschine. I'm building and impressive library of tempo sync'd kits of chopped loops.

agreed, i need sidechaining more than timestretching.
