    Hey party people!

So I have this issue, but first, I'm going to tell you about my set up and my goals for this set up.

    I have a Maschine MK1, a Behringer FCB1010, and Mainstage, and a cheap 2 channel M-Audio audio interface.

When I run Maschine stand alone, I can control it with the FCB1010 Midi controller, namely, switch scenes with the press of a pedal (pedal programmed to send PC messages).

When I run Maschine instanced in MainStage, I can not get it to change scenes via MIDI Messages. If I could, we would not be having this conversation right now.

I have got MainStage to slave to Maschine's tempo for now, as a temporary fix. I would like to eventually be able to control Maschine from MainStage, and/or be able to route Maschine's outputs to different channels in MainStage. I have had little luck with Soundflower - I need to use my interface as input for a microphone in Mainstage, so I can not set the input device in Mainstage to Soundflower.

The reason I want to control Maschine through Mainstage is to be able to effect and control the effects on the Maschine via foot pedals.

    Does anyone have any insight?

    tl:dr:

How do I get Maschine to manually change scenes within MainStage via other MIDI controller?

Damn please write the tldr before the actual post xD

Did you set the all neccessary MIDI inputs? Did you try in another DAW than MainStage?

i don't think anyone uses Mainstage here.

but make sure your MIDI Pedal is sending on the same MIDI Channel that you have set for your Program change.

I use Mainstage. I have not done exactly that and I don't use a FCB. But here are a few avenues to explore:

Try going in Layout mode in MS and create a hardware controller for your FCB (there are probably plenty of templates out there, but if not, it's pretty easy to do). The you then can map the buttons of the FCB to parameters in Maschine as needed.

You may also try changing scenes with note messages, and program the FCB to send out those notes.

Good luck, and please don't forget to report back as I am sure that there will be more and more user who will use MS with Maschine for live performance - probably keyboard players more than DJs.

You should also check some Mainstage forums for more informaition. Logic Pro Help is one of the better ones.

Yes. You can set the first 128 Scenes in the Project to respond to MIDI notes or program changes 0-127 by setting the Scene MIDI settings (little gear icon in the transport/header bar) to the correct source, type, and channel.

This function has been included lately? because on the manual it says:
"If MASCHINE is running as a plug-in in a host environment, you can trigger and change Scenes using MIDI Note or MIDI Program Change messages sent from your host to the MASCHINE plug-in. "

Who do you believe: me or the manual (that is probably out-of-date and does not include all addenda)? :p

It wasn't added recently, quite a while ago actually, but it is there now.

thank you, i'm new to the Maschine and I'm trying to figure out how to do a lot of things and it's not so obvious at the beginning, but thanks to the forum I can improve quickly!
