    Hi Guys and Gals,

I am fiddling with the idea to expand my setup with a Roland System1 and their recreated instrument, the SH-101.
I read the PlugOut-Synth does only come as a VST3-Plugin, and Ableton and Maschine don’t support these.
The Article I read was from 2014, and I could not find any confirmation that Maschine does not let us use VST3 PlugIns.

    Could someone please confirm this?

Are you using pc or Mac ?
I sure there's a vst 2.4 for pc, if on Mac then au .
I had a system 1 , sold it , in all honesty whilst it was a cool synth ,especially the hardware control, I ended up just getting the plug outs , system 1 , sh101 , sh2 and promars, now I'm thinking about signing up to Roland cloud .

Never heard of rolandcloud before, I’ll give a try. Thanks for the advise!
But actually this does not answer the question if Maschine does not support VST3, yet.
I am working on both Operating systems, so...

this is coming for NI software, subscription based. native access will be the manager for it, though i am sure the option to purchase will still be there.

Bet your bottom dollar in 5 to 10 years all relevant companies will have subscription plans.
Old people will complain and kids will love it.

The Roland Integra 7 has all that in an external sound module with real synth and effects processing as well as samples...at 250 a year, the hardware is a better option... remember, the subscription does not include the cost of the computer you need to run the software

True you can pick up some old hardware for the same sort of price , tbh I own four of the original plug outs , and the 3 I brought where probably the same price as a years subscription , so I'm still debating if it's worth it , I read existing owners will get some kind of deal ,so waiting on that .
    Downloaded everything to demo

Yes, because we paid good money for that, and I bet our previous generation had to spend even more to „end it“ with subscriptions... Maybe we old men are a little jealous that you could get for a heap of software for a couple of drinks at a bar.

But I for once like to have the opportunity to purchase my Software.

Note that although I said that I'm 34, not really old but not really young either.

The people that come next expending less money is just a reality we have to live in the tech world, even in hardware, sometimes you buy something for a huge price tag and a month later there's a sale or some kind of promo and the price is only half... It's infuriating, i understand, but saying hey "never drop or do anything the drops the cost so that everyone else has to pay as much as me" doesn't sound like a good consumer friendly philosophy, you could also be that "next" person buying something cheaper.

Subscription doesn't mean that there's no option to buy anymore, not sure why you're assuming that, these don't need to be mutually exclusive. For my needs, I rather buy and own something than pay using a subscription too, but it's nice to have options for others who think differently.

All the new plugins for Roland are on Cloud only, so try buying those whilst your at it.

    Update:
My next Apple MacBook has been a Dell Precision. Installed all my purchased (got it?) software and I was a little surprised that Roland gave me the option to install my PlugOuts in a Maschinereadable (don't get confused) VST2 format.

    Thanks Roland!

My bad. Back then I read your advise, though „I hope this is true, please don’t let me hang there“
    Then I forgot :(

Besides the poor preset management and the shabby non-velocity sensitive keyboard, it is a inspiring Synth.
Actually it is my first (beside my Virus A) Synthesizer with an integrated keyboard.

The PlugIns are a long awaited solution since there where no comparebel, fully functional, official SH-101 Plugins. Great!

Yeah , the keyboard is terrible, but the unit itself is great for learning synth programming, and the vst are really good , the cloud ones are good too but subscription only which is a shame . I all ready own 4 , but the list is growing, so I might be worthwhile in the future.
Was thinking about getting a system 1m or even a system 8 if the prices drop
