lol What a nonsensical post. It's not technically feasible for any decent music software being made for android precisely because of Google's indifference to the pro-audio community.

Even that's probably not exactly what you are looking for, it may help you.

I developed an Android App that lets you switch through scenes on your phone. This means you don't have to unterrupt e.g. your livedrumming. Just watch that short demo.

The app made around 100 downloads in this, very first week. A few users told me that the app became important in their set and that they like it. But I don't know how to make the app more popular, I think, if more people knew about it, they would be happy with it.

If you guys want to give it a try, download Maschine Scene Selector for free, you find some installing instructions here:http://bandevents.de. The setup lasts no longe than 2 minutes

Holy f*ck I made that post up there 2 years ago, the app had the worst code ever, it was about 1200 lines for 12 buttons I remember

The app is still alive and available for iOS tho, just sayin :D

And yes, the Android way of dealing with audio isn't THAT bad anymore, used to be way worse but realtime processing still sucks. However, I would be fine with a short waiting period of rendering effects on samples in order to play with it on Android. Because simply triggering samples on Android does not have a considerably worse delay than on iOS.

Unlikely to happen, porting apps to Android is a lot of work plus NI is already having trouble keeping up with updates on existing platforms. Furthermore piracy is rampant on Android compared to Apple, especially in Maschine's core demographic of males under 30.

I bet more than 3 out of 4 NI hardware owners have iPhones.

NI wouldn't have to do the grunt themselves. I am sure NI could find someone, one of the many to produce android music production apps, and have them produce an NI approved app. The min requirement would have to support a file format which allowed NI kits to be imported, as well as a file format which exported to Maschine. NI could also approve the 'look' so that it was consistent with the rest of their range. In return the developer would get a percentage of the returns as well as marketing support of NI. It seems to me the kinds of people who buy android might be attracted to the budget end of the Maschine, eg the Mikro. Also if this were to stimulate the resale market that would encourage further take up of the latest gear as people were encourged to upgrade.

They've had a few years to consider it alongside the existing iOS app and it hasn't happened yet. I'm sure it's been explored. It could be something simple like the iOS sales were already disappointing so why bother with android. But my guess is they saw the piracy rates on Android and said no way and that was it.

I own a small business and have hired developers to do smaller jobs and shits never as easy as you think it will be. Same can be said double for contracts and partnerships.

Old thread/ancient history: They addressed it, improved and latency is a non-event since Android 6.
They had bigger fish to fry, like satisfying their 75%+ of the market user base.
    https://source.android.com/devices/audio/latency_measurements

I'm interested in the Studio. If it only worked on ONE of the duopolists platforms, I wouldn't be.
I might buy, and if they bother with a GUI Linux Port, I'm in like Flynn.

Critics who "Don' t Use Linux" - Oh yeah . . . keep deluding yourselves. Got a router? PVR? NAS?
Use FB, eBay or google search? That's right, YOU use Linux - it is almost impossible to avoid.

    So, NI ...
A GUI port would be nice so I don't have to KRDC to another box ... otherwise, I have that second resort.
Ios, Osx, Android and Linux are MUCH closer to each other than they are to WIN ...

Latency isn't why NI hasn't invested in Android.

This is such a “basic” app, it wouldn’t take long to make an android version.

Just learn to accept that NI has ZERO INTEREST in th mobile device market. They made an iOS app just so they could say “Look, we have that too!!” and too fleece their regular customers by charging them a dollar more for expansions they already most likely own #Upselling.

I'm sure that's not why they invested in an iOS app. Most likely a combination of "this might make a ton of money let's try" plus "let's get some mobile users into the eco system then they might upgrade to NI hardware later."

Source: am business guy and developer.

I’m sure that was the original intent. My point is the app has never been considered to be “improved” upon significantly enough to compete with other apps available in the App Store. As it stands right now, and has been for the past 5+ years, this app is really just for existing Maschine owners to have a shiny toy to spend more money on, but probably hardly use.

I can assure you, no one who is not familiar with Maschine desktop and bought this app has been convinced to spend the $700-$800 to buy it. And I would LOVE for the good people at NI to prove me wrong about that.

The current trend ,this kind of software doesn't have much use for us,what we need is a software that is as comprehensive as Android assistant (Android to iPhone )Obviously, it is not sufficient in this respect, because Google is completely unfocused on this, but in the long run, it needs to be developed

I hate to be that guy but this is EXACTLY why I bought my Maschine MKII earlier this year. I'm a long time Reason user and picked up the iMaschine app some time ago and fell in love with the drum sounds (even at 16bit) and began importing them into Reason's drum sample and playback machine, Kong for project use. I found I used the kits and the $.99 expansions so much I needed to get my hands on the source even if VST wasn't supported by the program since I could always export audio loops. Lucky for me my timing was perfect as VST support was added less than a month later. Maschines work flow is great but more importantly the sounds are on point and I wouldn't have even considered another hardware or even software purchase with ought the tast I got from the app

Despite what you say, I still believe you are missing the very gist of the matter. If there aren't enough combinations of devices and operating systems, iMaschine won't be able to function with a baseline level of quality. Furthermore, low latency audio in Honeycomb still needs to be worked out by the software developer. Some parts of the DAW software could have access to it, but nobody else does because Google makes it so difficult for developers. Native Instruments are NOT at fault read here. You can use Caustic or other Android applications that satisfy your need for step sequencing on the Android platform. Google has no excuse for sharing their own market and crippling its users' options, so they are the most responsible party here without any excuse.
