Hey this is probably a stupid question, but if I wanted to use traktor and Maschine at the same time is there any way I can use maschine as a plug in in traktor?
So i can mix between decks buy also add live loops and bash out my own drums on the pads and stuff over the top of the tracks playing?

you can't run Maschine as a plugin in Traktor, but you can send MIDI Clock from Traktor to Maschine, so they playback at the same time. there are Youtube videos explaining how to do this and also an entry in Knowledge Base.

There is a workaround for running Traktor through Maschine. If your on a pc you can run Jackaudio and route your audio through Traktor as a live deck. It takes a little bit of setting up but it works. I stumbled upon this fix as a solution to use one soundcard for both programs.

Though not what the OP said, I think this is wanted. By sowari for one, I believe. I'd settle for just some of Traktor's features in Maschine i.e., "Loop Recorder" and "Sample Decks" (which will hopefully come with and work alongside the ominous timestretch).

There 3 good ways to use these programs together on 1 or 2 PCs.

    >Maschine routed through Traktor Deck (Live Input) in sync
    (use TSP effects)

    >Maschine synced to traktor
    (just synced)

    >Traktor Decks routed through Maschine
(use Maschine Effects & Co on Traktor)

All these Setups can be achived on mac or pc usin soft or hardware.
U can solve connctions digital or analog usin cables.

    I prefer way 1 ;-)

my issue with the Sample Decks is that they don't do timestretch.

the reason i want Traktor as a VST, is so i have a choice of what i could have in Maschine. the main decks in Traktor have really great timestretch if you use the Key Lock function.

i would be happy to start off with 2 decks - and chose whether they were the normal deck or a sample deck - and the loop recorder.

Fair enough. I didn't know that about the Sample Decks, as I'm not a Traktor user. Just going off the features I do know it has (from videos and the product page). I said Sample Decks in particular though, as they work with the Loop Recorder, don't they? So that when you've recorded a loop, you can transfer it to a Sample Deck to free up the Loop Recorder.
I think this could be implemented in Maschine by either allowing a Group to be set as a Loop Recorder group and then the recorded loop could then be transferred to any of the 16 pads a la Traktor's Loop Recorder to Sample Deck function.
Or simply as additional module choices for the Sounds, where Loop Recorder would be a module choice and Loop Player (or whatever) would be a module choice. Both with the timestretch capability that is coming.

okay i see what you mean.

what would be better for me would be to Drag n Drop the Audio from the Loop Recorder in the Traktor VST straight onto a Maschine Sound.

Thing is, that's not very performance friendly. As long as there is a way to do it quickly from the controller, like there is in Traktor with the S4 (and S2?), I'd be happy.

For me, Maschine is so close to being all I need for both "production" and performance. Just a few things here and there. Admittedly, this is quite a big one. :p

    MASCHINE is vst yet
But traktor is not a vst host
virtual dj , future decks ,deckadance all are host for vst...
Deckadance have a vst version and virtual dj have the rewire......

I think vst version or vst hosting is permanently requested on the traktor forum.

    Cheers guys,
I did some research and managed to sync the two but in the tutorial i followed when you adjust the midi clock to match up both mentronomes he says that maschine shouldn't run if traktor isn't but for some reason if I pause maschine in the metronome bar in traktor then play again they're automatically out of time I understand why but if I always have to adjust the tempo and sync them whenever I want to change a track I don't see the point in doing this but I'll have another play tonight

Does anyone use these synced alot of the time?
