Can you use Maschine instead of the traditional TTs and mixer setup?

I was thinking with a computer program to drop the music tracks into, and use it to form a dj set?

It doesn't have a crossfader, but it has lots of buttons that could be mapped, and the unlimited knobs could be used like a rotary mixer?

Is this possible at all? I am very unfamiliar with midi stuff, but I use Serato scratch live with my TTs. Maybe an Ableton, NI, or Serato program could be used?

... as a dj controller basically. I still have my mixer but no soundcard unless the Serato SL1 counts

Traktor + Maschine, MIDI Mapping MIDI Monsters has a good one for maps.

... yes ... Maschine can be mapped to control DJ software ... much like any other MIDI controller ... i use one to control Traktor (in conjunction with custom mapped X1/F1) ... no TT or mixer required.

I only have Serato SL. Nothing on Midi Monster for it

Can you run Traktor without the soundcard?
