Ive had maschine from the beginning, never had any errors or issues until lately. Every time i start up maschine, it has to scan for the library/expansions. why is this happening?

Try Preferences>Library>User and disable "Scan User Content at startup"

Will do! Soon as im home from work mate! I also have my library/3rd party librarys installed on an external hard drive, altho this has never been an issue before, could it be causing issues now with later software updates?

Not sure, I read some threads where the issue was 2 paths pointing to the same folder/sub folder. You can remove some paths to test if changes the behavior and go from there. Some people move/remove the scan apps, however, I don't recommend that, maybe only as a last resort.

I would try removing the first user library temporarily "Maschine Library", rescan, then restart Maschine to see if its the cause.
Also, run the app in Admin mode. You using the standalone app right? not the plugin version

Yeah im running it on standalone there, simply because when i would run it as a plugin and try to load groups from expansion, it would constantly ask me to “locate” the missing samples everytime. So opening it in standalone, letting it scan, then shutting it down to open it in ableton was the workaround.

Ill deleate the user library “maschine library”, im pretty sure this is the maschine 1 library. Is there any point to having it there atall, are all the samples/groups included inside maschine 2 library?

Ohhh... Then whatever is causing that is probably the issue here, since this workaround wouldn't work unless it always rescans. This might be an NA related issue, I am guessing at some point you had the libraries on your HD and then moved them to the external hd.... right?

I think so, but don't delete the old off from the HD just in case.
