I have been having a couple of set-up niggles when using Maschine in Logic 9.1.3 and so decided to run Maschine in stand alone mode.

The output on everything was distorted from sound preview to when played on pads.

Generally Maschine is OK in Logic but I am a little concerned that I get this distortion in stand alone mode. I have quit Logic when running in stand alone mode btw.

    Any thoughts/suggestions please?

firstly you should have run Machine Standalone before you used it in Logic.

secondly go to Maschine's Audio Preferences and increase the buffer size.

I'm pretty sure that I did this. I know it's standard practice to launch all NI stuff standalone first.

Will check the buffer size and see how I get on.

I'm on a 8 Core Mac Pro btw. Surely this should handle any buffer size?

I've had problems with notes not being input correctly and posted this up separately. Do you know if I need to repost or could this be linked to buffer issues also?

I changed Maschine's audio buffer up from 128 to 256 and it now plays fine as a stand alone - thanks.

I am a bit suprised that I need to make the buffer that big. My Mac Pro is 6 months old with 8 cores and kind of assumed that I could set the buffer as low as possible.

I'm using a digi 003 as my audio interface as I still run pro tools for vocal sessions, but mainly I use Logic for beat making.

I have set my 003 h/w to 256 samples and the same for my Logic preferences too [is this correct?]

I am still experiencing note drop outs when using note repeat over 8 bars at 142 bpm I lose at least 1 note when playing 16t. Could you help me with this please? I did post this up separately but have had no reply from tech support.

    Thanks for fixing the distortion.

    Thanks for the help.

Do all macs need a 256 buffer for Maschine?

Who would know about the note repeat issue please?

My MacBook works also with 128 as buffer size. Anyway, I prefer 256 because of the lower CPU load. 256 is OK for my taste.
