If anyone wants a better look at DnB patterns check out 5pin Media's "MIDI Focus - Drum & Bass Breaks".

It comes with quite a few patterns Maschine format. Great for cutting and pasting into your own or just wrapping your head around the drum programming aspect.

I'll try to get a track up this week and give some feedback to everybody music.

First off, this is constructive criticism , I hope I don't come across harsh or anything.

@ Jahnick (DNBKS) I would eliminate the wobbles before the drop (1-45 sec). The piano is great (3:36 mark) , I really like the track from this point on. The wobbles at 1:45 - I would add some variation to the LFO speed to keep them interesting.

@ Envy1400 - Obviously mixing down would help, getting your drums equal. Overall I like what you have going on. I think adding some rises to your transitions would add to the energy of your track.

@Cubanb95 (Grinch - Sweaters) Not much I'd change. I like your drum programming. I could be wrong but is sounds like you lose some of your drums in the second half?

@aerux (Dirty) - Very high energy. dope track. snare could be louder maybe.

@Nepotist (Ctyxfer) Great tunes. I hear your ambient influence. I like it. You should make some more DnB. Great use of movie samples (I'm guessing they're from movies).

@Keir - Lets hear some old school!

    Focus, focus, focus.

    Jesus, I missed you.

First of all, thanks for your feedback! Really appreciate it.
Unfortunately, i'm drowning in work at the moment and don't have any time to get on my precious Maschine to do some more stuff, but i keep you guys updated here ;)

Your track has got some sick drumlines and nice variations within! The "stabs"(?) (first heard at 0:11) does not want to fit in. Maybe they're just too loud or they sound too dry. I don't know why, but i feel like i'm missing something, but i also like big synths and warm pads, so perhaps don't listen to me :D Or maybe i got it all wrong, and thats exactly what you wanted to achieve, when calling it "awkwardness" ;)

    Cheers

    Hey guys,
    i´m glad i found this thread.^^
I am working on my first dnb tune at the moment suing mainly Maschine, Studio one v2, massive and reaktor.

I am still in the writing process - so there´s no complete arrangement or mixing and mastering yet, but i would love to get some feedback :)

awol that drum beat definitely suits the title, man i would hate to mix that, it fooks with your internal timing- very tricky - cool man.

i actually prefer it from the 1.55 mark - rock on

    Maschine dnb tune

Here's one I did a wee while back (I think it was before the 1.6 update?) but made entirely in Maschine (mastered with Logic though I think, can't remember!) ... Was a part of a small competition between friends, all of us using the same samples.

Note the heavy use of grain delay! Still love that effect :)

I've been going to a lot of DNB shows here in NY and have been in that mode for that last 3 months. There so much great stuff out there. I've started to make (with trepidation as its not usually my style) DNB songs in Maschine. I'm at work but I'll check all the stuff on here when I get home.

yeah got back to clicky click ;) But i have V-Control for ipad now.

just use Maschine from time to time now.

But i arrange,eq and layer my drums in logic.

Want to use maschine in mackie mode but it keeps loosing connection...

Bought myself a pair of Adam p22 speakers and pimped up the studio a bit.

Well the last rave was 02.10.12 with Netsky, High Contrast, Marky, and phantasy.

    It was a blast ;)

Well I'm a bit of a newb and have only been to about 5 shows so far thi syear bu the last one I went to was organized by Natural Selection and Artificial Intelligence was featured as well as some other folk http://www.thenaturalselectionnyc.com/. I went to a US vs UK DNB show a couple of months before that at the Williamsburg Hall in Brooklyn. Actually there is supposed to be a show today at Avenue A I may drop by there after ComicCon. (yes, I'm nerdy).

I'm really starting to get into now, I used to listen to the stuff when I was younger (around 95 or so) but haven't really been following DNB until recently when a friend dragged me to a show and I remembered why I loved the genre so much. Audio - Headroom is probably my favorite track right now. Soul Magnet is going to be awesome imo.
