I didn't get the email for bug submission so I thought I would post this here...

I ran the 1.5 updater, and immediately after, Maschine would not let me select my Digidesign 002 Rack as my audio driver. It sees the 002 Midi ports, but not the audio.

OSX 10.5.8, Pro Tools 8.0.1, Maschine 1.5 (beta)
Mac Pro 1st Gen 2.66ghz Quad Core - 5GBs ram

You should try updating to PT 8.03 and see if there is improvement on the Core Audio Driver support.

Do you need to re-install the 002 driver?

I just got a 002 rack which i use stand-alone with Machine on Vista (gasp).

I had upgraded to snow leopard and 8.0.3 but there's an issue with the core audio driver in that which doesn't allow ANY 3rd party software to see it and some other problems so i ended up reverting back. Worked fine with Maschine after that till I upgraded to 1.5. Damned if I do, damned if I don't!

1.5 Wont see my Digi 002

I use an mbox 2 when I'm home as my sound interface... shows up fine. I usually connect to my 002 when at the studio... Ever since i installed 1.5, the drop down list doesnt give the 002 as an option. Ive rebooted system and maschine several time but no change... Any clues?

Nope... i transport my 17in MacBookPro to and from the the studio... mbox is thru usb and Digi 002 is thru firewire... Thats the only difference.

Try creating an aggregate device of your 002's ins and outs and see if thast's recognized...

LOL - I just sold a 002R for a new interface. I gave up on stand-alone bugs. Certainly a straight forward solution, even if not very practical. ;)

Keep in mind that the 002R is not multi-client ASIO... I've heard of issues with apps not releasing the 002.

i tried the aggregate device editor with the 002r, to no luck. This is pretty silly. I know that L.E. and I are not the ONLY people using an 002r as an interface.... if ni is having issues with digi drivers, they need to be fixed or warn us before installation. Now i have to go back and spend over an hour reinstalling the old version. IF anyone has a solution, please let us know.

that having been said, i know this is a beta version, so am standing on thin ice, but i wouldnt think that using it with a digi device would be some obtuse means of getting sound out of the thing....

btw, ni, i would be happy to submit a big report, but when i try it does not accept my login or password, so if i am overlooking something, let me know.

i DO love the device, and i think it far exceeds standards set before it.

    Hi ashtarbrian,

the password for the bugtracker is not the same like the forum password. If you can't login, just click on the 'email me a new password' button.

Your report would be very helpful since the 002 is only not recognized by Maschine under special system configurations.

If you still have the Beta version installed, i like to ask you to try the following
    - run maschine as the only audio device (Logic etc not started)
    - does the digi Core Audio Manager show 'connected' state?

    thanks for your feedback,
    Jens

Hi Jens, thanks for your response, i will send a more comprehensive bug email later trying the "send new pw" option.

i DO still have the beta installed, i noticed the only output i could get from it was through my 8 core's internal speaker, so i plugged into the headphone jack and ran it out to my board. not the best solution, but took less time then the reinstall, and i am hoping the issue will be resolved soon.

It works fine in logic and ableton live, in terms of routing outputs to the 002r.

And to answer your other question, yes, upon loading Maschine, the Digidesign CoreAudio Manager still shows a status of connected... so i guess that conflicts with some other users issues of reporting that the interface lost connection. that is not the case for me, as i type now, i have maschine up and running and am listening to itunes through the digi 002r.

thanks for the help, if it matters, i am running 10.5.8...

    thanks!

    brian

    Hi Brian, L.E. Square,

i am not sure if we already have a bugreport from you in the tracker, anyway, could you please let me know, which version of Pro Tools you have installed?

    thanks
    Jens
