The new Maschine expansion Resonant Blaze is exclusively for Maschine 2.0 software.
This is kind of... well.... pretty annoying.

There are in fact other music production manufacturers who really care about their costumors and give long time support for their products.
Product cycles at NI become shorter and shorter with no suppport or careing of products that are older than two years or something.
This brezel is making me really thirsty! to say it with Kramer from Seinfeld.
And leads me away from NI to other manufacturers.

I really liked and still like the Maschine (1.8) and the Komplete Library. But for me that is it.
There are many small manufacturers out there who care about their customers (i.e. releasing a beta before selling a buggy software and to achieve feedback from regular users) which would be glad to earn my money.

If NI is going to change their agressive marketing strategy (like Apple did with their life-style product pallet) I might be come back again.
Have a nice time all of you guys and keep up your creativity!

    I'm outta here.

I knew someone would be mad about that. I just upgraded to Maschine 2.0, and if I didn't, I would be disappointed as well. However NI points out that this expansion takes advantage of the new drum synths in the kits. Could they release a scaled down version without this? I guess.

Do you really NEED more drum kits? I mean if you didn't NEED 2.0 why do you NEED every expansion

2.0 has new stock effects and modules. Of course for new sound packs the designers are going to make kits in 2.0 and take advantage of these. And kits made in 2.0 won't load in 1.8 since it is a new different format. Not sure why that's surprising or why someone would be upset over it.

No, I don't need that at all. My complain is about the way NI spits out their products every two weeks but don't do their jobs on supporting old stuff. Why is that? Cause of their aggressive marketing strategy. That is what I'm complaining about. The spirit of what making music is all about has gone at NI. Otherwise they would release Betas before selling or wouldn't force customers to purchase new plastic products every 6 months. This is what I mean is unprofessional. For me NI is getting obsolet though I will follow their strategy just to proof that I'm right with what I've said now.

Btw: I have a 25 Euro coupon. Someone interested? Would be a pleasure to give it away, if this is legal and will work.

You do realize the Maschine 1 was released over 4 years ago and was supported with tons of new free features and quite a few expansions? Sorry but your not making any sense.

Cool. I've been waiting for a DnB expansion. Definitely going to take a look at this. :)

As far as I know the Mk2 is not 4 years old. Please correct me if I'm wrong. It is maybe 1 year old or something. Now these users are forced to upgrade on an untested software paying 100 bucks just to make sure to get running new expansions in the future? Sorry, but that makes no sense for me.

Mk2 is just a hardware refresh not an entirely new product. That's why it's called Mk2 and not another name. Still does not negate the fact that M1 was out for over 4 years and recieved lots of new features and support. This topic was not about the hardware. Last I checked the Mk2 and Mk1 was released with M1x and both took advantage of features of 1x

This expansion uses the drum synths, side chaining and the plate reverb found in 2.0.

So this guy is mad that NI "spits out new products every 2 weeks"? Last I checked many people were pissed that NI wasn't releasing products fast enough (updated Maschine software, a new S4, a potential Z4, etc).

If they are releasing new and (potentially) improved products on a frequent basis, then the users reap the benefits of that innovation. We don't have to buy the new stuff (like this expansion, or Maschine 2.0) but it's available if needed.

Also, NI hasn't "withdrawn" support from Maschine 1.8 just because they wanted to release an expansion designed to take full advantage of their newest beat-making software. In fact, I would be annoyed if I had the more powerful 2.0 and NI didn't make expansions specificalled tailored to its strengths just because some people hadn't upgraded.

There were PLENTY of expansions released for 1.X (some argued that NI focused too heavily on releasing them). Let the early 2.0 adopters have their fun.

The reason its 2.0 only is because it uses the drum synths. Can't really do that in 1.8

I'm pretty offended that it's ported to imaschine. Can they update that to imaschine 2.0 already for better integration with the desktop software?

To use a video gaming reference: you don't expect Sony to continue to make PS3 games forever now that the PS4 is on the market. Just like there are currently no new PS2 games anymore. At some point you have to upgrade or just move on to something else. Sorry buddy but that's the way life and business is ran these days.

Maybe right. Maybe wrong. Interesting anyway.

Is it? Who told you that? Sounds like a fact and there's nothing what you as customer can do about it. Pretty sad, isn't it? Beeing nothing else than a zombie, born to accept given states and to consume.
But yes, you can do something about it.
