As far as price goes, I, like everyone, would like them to be cheaper. :p

But they're in line with the cheapest Kore/Kontakt soundpacks, aren't they? And I think they are comparable in content amount.

I don't need to install Maschine Elements because I already have Komlete 7 Elementts installed, but I would still like to get my hands on that vou her as I might check out The Finger (or something) with it.

Can someone tell me how to get my hands on this puppy?

    Thanks,
    STRATEGY

Have not really checked these out to see the quality but I think some of you are tripp'n about the price. It would be crazy to even sell a good sample pack for cheaper than that. The pricing is in line with what is usual across the industry for a professional sample pack and those are usually just one shots you have to map and import yourself. NI don't sell anything for less than that and they currently have a competitive price structure. Maybe folks are spoiled from all the free stuff NI spits out. :S

If you find out, let me know. I have installed and activated Elements but have not yet had a voucher. Not really complaining because Elements itself was free, but if it's on offer, I'd like it. :)

Nah, it's like: I'd rather they put together different bundles. Like, here's what I'd pay 60 bucks for.
    - some analog tape compressed drums from classic drum machines used in hip hop
    - more vinyl kits
    - Vocal one shots (WHAT! YEAH! UH!) etc.
    - Impacts and sweeps
    - More vinyl crackle sounds
    - Some hip hop based effects. Not much, just different compressors or different eq's, etc.

You can keep your synth sounds and what not. I'm not looking for expansion packs bundled with drums for that. In fact, I'd probably pay a hundred for the stuff above. I don't think Maschine needs expansion packs for synths and instruments. Komplete? Yeah. But give me expansion packs for something I can't get by getting Komplete. We are largely hip hop fans here, and for us, it's all about the drums. Everyone's trying to find harder hitting TR drums, or better Vinyl drums. That is what we can't get without knowing some DJ who likes to crate dig. If Maschine could put together a crazy dope expansive Vinyl kit based on different vintage gear, I think more of us would be happy for that than this. Like, give me a gig of just vinyl drums. Even if they are drums I could get for free elsewhere online, most of those kits are 30mb at best. Just find them and bundle them and sell 'em to us at 2gb worth, and they could have a grip of my money. Different stuff from different eras, Neve and SSL, different tape machines, then pressed to wax, etc. gold baby does this, but his collections aren't geared towards exactly what we need right now in the game. But his methods are crazy dope.

I have that, but looping a decent crackle patch more than does the job.

I agree that it would have been nice to be able to use my voucher. As soon as I saw the expansion packs, I put one in my shopping cart and checked out!...only to find that I can't apply it. Now I'm looking around to compare other sample sets too.
Not saying NI should give it to us for free or anything, but they gave us the Elements and coupon to Maschine users (thanks NI!), so wouldn't it be great if we can apply it to Maschine expansions?

I believe this is only the beginning, and like everything else, it's not for everyone. Maschine has a vast and diverse userbase, not just hip hop or dnb, and just like the kore packs, I think we will continue to see more expansions.

I'm hoping to see more third party development, would love to see some stuff with big fish, uvi, equipped, sample magic, etc :)

We also have to remember, not everyone will be using plugins, just because the option is there doesn't mean it fits everyone's workflow, some may prefer to have sample packs

I also agree with others that the pricing is in line with everything else they do, and like anything else, it's a personal choice as to if these packs are worth the price they are asking, to some they will be, to others they won't, that's just how it goes with any product.

did they make any pad/ track muting packs that allow you to sequence and quantize the mutes or do any of the packs allow you to create patterns of different tempos, or .....?

In one way these expansions are a shame because it probably means that NI wont be providing users with the scripts to make their own sound packs for distribution.

Or a user library facility (much like they have with reaktor) so we can share kits amongst the user base. This would be far more useful, but i guess it wouldn't turn a profit like these sound packs will.

It's not that hard to import WAV's into your own folder in the library.
I've regularly been making my own sounds for Maschine.
I bought and downloaded the Transistor expansion.
Pretty good actually.... if you are after that house, techno sound.
