I use maschine + only in standalone mode. I wish i could use midi program change to change scenes in maschine +. It would be nice if i could set this up in the hardware itself, just like you can in the software.

Sending program changes from maschine to other hardware works if you set this up in the software beforehand. The other way around, recieve program changes from other hardware to change scenes doesn’t work on the hardware… even if i set it up in the software beforehand, it doesn’t work in standalone mode.

I really hope this gets implemented in a future update… waiting for it really :) to incorporate the Maschine in my mostly Elektron, hardware setup. If this will work it will be my dreamsetup, where i can build up tracks in the Elektron patterns, where everytime i change to another pattern on the elektrons the scenes from maschine will change accordingly

On device midi programming in general is needed before it can be considered any kind of standalone studio hub. Other devices do this quite well.

Setting midi learn in the same way we set macros would be great. On the macro screen you could toggle between setting macros and midi. Shift+midi would be great for the plus but iirc that key combo is already used in controller mode to get to the midi templates so that would probably be best avoided.

Adding a program change value to scenes would be great perhaps with an option for send/receive/both. I think scenes only have 2 properties at the moment so there is screen real estate available.

I would like to be able to sync my sounds.com sample libraries to maschine+ the same way it downloads expansions.

    +1 to this idea!

++1 if you let us browse and download from sounds.com through the Maschine+ over WiFi.

Would love to see te possibility to record lock states. In record the parameter changes that the lock state change generates.

Would even be better if you could record the triggers to start lock state transitions from a clip. And if you could "layer" a couple of lock states together and trigger them from a midi clip.

This would make the maschine+ so much more capable.

Just thought of how they could implement this. If there was some sort of utility that you could load up instead of a sound on a group that allows you to trigger the ext lock states as midi notes you would be able to do so much with that.

    Renaming improvements

how about offering a list of common names so you can quickly name things, as many projects are similar. Eg scenes could be offered Intro, Verse, chorus, Middle, End etc, groups and sounds could be offered Bass, piano, Pads, Strings etc.

also, a one click way of deleting the default name of anything instead of multiple backspaces.

    This!

I would prefer a dynamic list of recently/often used names (per named object type). That way it would be more tailored towards the individual naming habits of the user.

Good idea. I mean, count the number of button presses required to rename say 5 scenes to your most common used. This could be reduced to only a few if there were presets for these. A great time saving. At present I usually don't bother renaming because of the time it takes on standalone (much quicker on laptop).

Bluetooth or USB keyboard would be nice. I believe the MPC Live/One have that option (at least USB).

While that would be nice in the studio, it means lugging around an additional keyboard while going other places (and if only to the balcony).

Maybe something like having the Pads act as fast selection for 16 characters and additional rotary controllers allowing to scroll faster could help as well.

I'm not arguing against using the pads or whatever. I'd still rather a bluetooth keyboard. I can use my phone as a keyboard and I always have it on me.

So I’ve been using Maschine+ in standalone mode extensively for a month or so since I’ve upgraded from my Maschine Mikro, which served me faithfully for many years.
As a sound engineer and producer with 15+ years of experience, I’d like to mention a few small things Maschine+ is lacking at the moment imho. Hope this can help make this product even better, as that’s what it’s all about.

    1. Master output level display.
    2. Gain reduction value display.
    3. Copy and paste effects and chains within sounds and groups.
    4. Midi events paste at cousor/grid.
    5. Option to move highlighted midi event to another pad in events tab.
    6. Pattern half/double midi playback speed.
    7. Search presets by name (f.e if I’m looking for a ‘hoover bass’ or ‘808’, I don’t want to scroll through all the bass sounds. Tags can’t be of any use in this case).
    8. Navigate/scroll through the name during the renaming process (now I have to delete all the letters I entered if I skipped one letter in the beginning by mistake).
    9. Option to reset the entered values to its default state in mixer tab, for both volume and pan.
Hope these features or at least some of them will be implemented in the future updates.

    #Machine+

    Hi everyone,

Am I the only one here that still misses the ability to send program CC on project load?
I will explain why this feature feels so essential in a LIVE, dawless setup: (no Ableton Live needed)

Currently when opening a project, I first need to press PLAY to send the program cc to all external synths. That means any programmed sample or sequence in the beginning will be played already unnecessarily if you want to start playing one synth for instance... + when you have programmed some loops for external synths and their program cc will only be sent, from the moment you hit the play button, you 'll risk to hear the current synth sound for the first note of that loop.

It would be so amazing to just open a project and having all external gear ready (voc fx, synths, drumpad, ...)
This way, Machine+ would really be the brain of my whole band setup.

Currently adding program cc only works via computer. So it would be also handy to be able to adjust it on Machine+ itself.

    Many thanks for your understanding,
    Pieter

    Lfo as insert fx.

I would love to have the ability to modulate parameters (of choosing) with a dedicated lfo. An lfo i could insert on sound/group level to modulate a destination on that level… example: pitch of a drum-synth, depth of the chorus effect, rate of the delay etc. Would be awesome

    Hi team!

I've been using Maschine + for over a year now as a brain to control all my hardware instead of my MPC. Even if the recent updates greatly improve its performance, it still lacks a few options to make it a must-have:

    - The sound card support is great but limiting it to 8 inputs is a shame. I have to switch all my instruments to mono and I still don't have enough inputs, so I have to plug and unplug all the time.

    - It is not possible to make program changes. In my studio some synths are far away and it would be nice to be able to scroll presets and banks from Maschine like on MPC.

    - when the machine is set in external audio, the physical inputs are no longer accessible.

    - Midi effects are missing, for example LFO, chance, midi delay, etc.

    - the variation function is interesting for drums, but for melodies, it would be nice to be able to select a scale, or a chord mode.

    - the sync in the parameters returns systematically by default each time the machine is switched on, it would be nice if the settings could be saved.

    - More performance effects, and possibility to use it on the master ?

    - possibility to record several inputs in the sampler section. For example group A + group C in one recording.

    - implementation of new instruments like Massive X would be awesome!

    Required feature!

    Indeed, that would be handy.

    Great idea.

More would be nice, availability on the Master a requirement.

    Settings->Audio->Buffer Size

I've always said there's no such thing as a working computer, just different levels of broke.
Hopefully they can get it not broken enough that we can trust it not to crackle.
I'd be happy if they could allow us to set the buffer size like we do on a computer - tiny buffer for fast real-time response, but let us increase it on a big project with less real time response required.
