I cant seem to get this work, is it even possible to just use FX from the Maschine (they show on fx-list in cubase as plugins)

Im trying to use Maschines distortion on reaktor track, but
everytime i put FX on channels insert or send fx it just mutes the track.

same thing happens with Kore 2.

Here is what i did in cubase 5 to get it to work

    1. load maschine fx to track as an insert.
    2. Set a group sound to input, and set the input source to external
    3. Load what ever efx you want to use in the remaining modules

There may be other ways but I've only had maschine for 3 days now so my knowledge is very limited

I read that you have cubase 5 in your thread. I was having problems with it while using maschine, I was wondering if you could help me out. I have Maschine runnig as a plug in in Cubase 5 everything works fine; except it will not record. Have you had this problem? Thanks.

    Thank you hi-d-ho-man!
I will try that! No need for other ways, that seems easy and fast enough!

    mwill008:
do you mean that mascine does not record while on plugin mode?
If i remember correctly, I had similar issue. If I remember correctly, I had to work around the rec by using rec on cubases transport panel, try that!

Tried this, but didnt seem to get it work...
Do I need to set group sound to input and input source to external from maschine or cubase?

I couldnt find input settings whatsoever from the maschine...
    Confusing...

Cubase 5 does not record anything from Maschine. I can hear it and I can control it from Cubase, but it will not record.

Do you want to record in realtime, or do you want to bounce patterns?

If bounce, check this drag´n´drop video
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oDdN-fS1kA4

If you want to record separate tracks in realtime, then this
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KJPppDwJ0n4

Last one is a bit clumsy way imo, so i prefer drag´n´drop function. If you want separate takes (ie. snares and kicks on separate tracks) just use mute/solo function.

    Hope this helps you out!

You change it in maschine. you set the first module to input, then the option to change to external shows in the control area for module 1

I watched the videos that didn't work, but I notice my outputs are not exactly the same as in the video. I brought cubase year ago prior to going back to Iraq. Do you think I need to reinstall it? Maybe that is problem.

I dont think so, it seems though you are using your computers built-in soundcard, and I´m not sure if it supports multiple-outs. Try updating your Cubase first before re-installing. I would also recommend an USB audio-interface for you. Solves many problems with latency. Cubase should have ASIO drivers built in, so I doubt thats the problem.

If you already have external audio-interface, just press F4 and change it as output. Theres a dropdown menu that shows all installed soundcards.

Let me know how it turns out! :)
