Why aren't any of the Maschine Groups (Factory or Expansion) Color Coded?

Looking at the website for various Maschine products before purchase, I was under the impression that this would be the case - especially since the equivalent kits in Battery 4 were all color coded (like in MPC 2, or on MPC Controllers).

I felt a bit deceived when I got the hardware in to find that every kit just loads with every pad the same color as the group...

Honestly, I might sell this unreturnable hardware and get an MPC One, for the usability convenience alone. It's nice to load a kit and just know what type of sample each pad corresponds to. Seems really lazy to not have this done for the Maschine stuff.

I dont think its as clear cut as you make it seem. Everyone has their own opinion when it comes to colour coding, there is no standard way to use the colours, so even if the groups were already colour coded, people would then complain they are colour coded "wrong".

In my case, I only use colours to differentiate between three types of stuff — MIDI, Audioloop & Internal plugin content. I'd be furious if I loaded up a group and it wouldn't use my colour conventions.. Which they actually do since most Mas content is based on Internal plugins anyway

If you want to sell your Mas just because the content is not colour coded, go right on ahead, no skin off my back

There is a standard way. Every kit in the Battery 4 Factory Library and every Battery 4 Kit in the Expansions uses a standard color scheme for pads based on what type of sample or sound they trigger. Use your eyes.

Every kit in every expansion made for battery uses the same color scheme. They just got lazy and didn't do it for the Maschine Groups.

There is only upside to doing this for the Maschine groups. Stop going out of your way to act like this would be some sort of impediment to you, or anyone else. Them not being there hurts more than it would hurt you if they were there.

You still change the colors to what you want, even with them not being there now. It would change nothing for you. Nothing at all. It would only benefit a ton of people.

I'm not here for this. Off to the void, you go.

You can change the color scheme in the settings, but tbh, I prefer each group in separate colors, 99% of kits have the sounds in same soundslot, for example kicks on pad 1 and 5 so I don’t see the problem. I just see a whiner. Boohoo

Lol. Other person deleted their response. Cheeky.

Nothing whiny about that. This is the way a lot of other products work. Battery 4 works this way, in fact. It's a pretty expected thing, and they market it as if it actually does this, when in fact it does not.

Nothing I see in the NI website or even the video on the MK3 page would lead me to believe that what I actually saw was what I should have expected.

I spend the money for the controller, I'm entitled to give my feedback and I'm definitely entitled to my expectations given what they have on display.

Why are you people so f*****g childish, here?

I do not have nor use Battery. And Battery is its own thing, it has nothing to do with Maschine.

In any caser, I don't think your hot take is going to make NI spend resources on updating all their Maschine expansions just to please a single user. You need to make your agenda a some sort of petition and get enough names behind it, otherwise you are just wasting your breath

Are you seriously getting emotional about this? cute

Go to Preferences and then colors and change sounds to auto (will be on group as default)
Pick your toys up and put them back in your pram while looking at all the multi colours

Please don't go around calling people whinners.... Just because you don't see a problem with the lack of XYZ feature it does not justify being rude to someone who does. Just disagree respectfully or don't engage when you don't agree, if no one agrees and comments the thread will bury itself in a couple of days anyway.

Yes, you have the right the share your opinion / feedback.
This is the internet, there are all kinds of people everywhere; if someone is rude you're really better off ignoring it and reporting rather than trying to fight fire with fire... this just leads to a sour path and a closed thread. 14 posts in and you're already cursing, it's not that deep...
