    welcome :D

the short answer is yes ;)

but maybe you need to give us a few more details, of what computer/software you already own and what kind of music you want to make.

also, you should check out the NI videos on Maschine.

First question is what kind of music do you intend to make? Who are your musical influences? Do you intend to play live?

The answers to these questions will influence how useful Maschine will be to you as opposed to other music software.

I "learned" it within 2 days. Im no beginner though and i have a little insight on how sequencers work. But im sure you can handle it too. The videos are great tutorials and go through to manual. There's not that much to learn so it wont fatigue your brain too much ;)

if you have a Mac, i recommend Logic. it has a great Library including Strings and Pianos.

you could even try Garageband first which is installed already on your Mac.

I would definitely pick up Maschine if I were u. That would be my first choice. Its fairly easy to use n u will love it the moment u load it up. Second I would purchase Komplete 7 as with the release of the 1.6 update for Maschine u will be able to use the bundle within Maschine. As for your DAW of choice it all depends on your workflow and how much u already understand of the recording process. Reason 4 is a good start for beat making from what I've heard, I dnt own it myself though. I was like you too and didnt quite understand the recording process and didn't understand the DAW. I did my research n word of mouth lead me to Pro tools. If u are able to invest, they offer online courses @ berkleemusic.com as well as Promediatraining.com if you want a quick run through of the hands on approach but it comes with a getting started disc that will get you up and running and groove3.com also has video tutorials on pro tools as well as other DAW's but its up to you in the end. Just do some research n you'll find everything you need, good luck....
