thanks Pawcut and Lotuz... i am very pleased ;)

both are very nice. but yes Lotuz, i am jealous of your skills.

but yes, that is a very nice track to sample.... i am so busy, with a new teaching job that i don't have much time for making music, but i will try to use this track as sampling fodder.

i think it would be nice if other Maschine users had a go as well.

    what do you think?

    he architect ,
all i can judge is u really made a nice and different use of the william bell sample, everything else is pure clipping to distortion.....
    two lil tricks ,
    1. level the group levels down to -6 oreven-10 when starting for more headroom....dont turn it up to the fullest the whole creating process
    2. after producing a banga give ur ears some rest from the frequencies (they get used even to clipping),mixdown some time after with fresh ears..
last but not least, watch the master level meter

    keep them coming !

How do you get your sound so clear? Use samples that sound clear. ;) But try to EQ your sounds if you feel they're not clear enough. And as said before add the EQ to the Master and raise the high freq just a little to freshen up the sound.

The drums in We're In This.. are not from the Maschine library. I took a bassdrum from Smif-N-Wessun, a snare from Leroy Hutson, a closed hi-hat from Mobb Deep, and a cymbal from a Steinberg BitBeats sample CD. On the next beat I might use a bassdrum from Ohio Players layered with an 808, a snare from Detroit Emeralds, a closed hi-hat from Johnny Guitar Watson, and a cymbal from a Bob Clearmountain sample CD. I don't care where the drums are from. If they sound nice together, then that's my drum kit for that one beat.

The bass guitar (just a couple of single notes) is from a USB Sounds sample CD btw. But on the next beat I might sample a bass solo from Cymande, chop it, and play my own bassline.

Way too much distortion. But it's cool to hear this song chopped a different way. Now please all leave that song alone for a while.

Again there's too much distortion. Take down the levels.

It's hard to tell since it's so compressed. You really should do a new mix. I like the Mantronix like intro.

Alright guys. Here is a track I produced and rhymed second on. I really don't like the way the hook sounds. I seem to be the only one who feels that way though. So, I would like to know what people who actually know what they are talking about when it comes to music production think.

My audio engineering skills need work...

i record them up to 20-30 seconds duplicate and set the start -end points manually, should add im working on 2 screens  and the waveform is quite overviewable still with that ...overall a sample running 2 bars is max in my experience...
what exactly do ya mean by "what to set maschine to "?

hola nekron, dunno im not very much into this style so im not gonna say anything bout the hook, probably a more "i your face "-snare like the reg . 808 would make the track crispier, plus what lotuz said bout mastering effects some posts ago
