Man, I dunno no what to say about that!

Every time I hear that bit of music it makes me feel five years old again, watching Star Wars in the backseat of my dad's car in the drive-in, crappy lo-fi speaker hooked to the window, just barely dark enough to project the movie on the screen, but late enough (it was summer) that I was already feeling sleepy. My first experiences with Star Wars are full of very surreal connections that only being a kid who is super excited but half-asleep can have.

So, I dunno man, maybe take some tylenol PM and throw those DVDs in one night, haha.

Lotuz, I'm seriously thinking about carjacking Magic Mike's truck just to take a listen to this track at some serious volume!

Neither do I. :S

Man, I wish I could play this at high volume, but that bassdrum will get me in serious trouble with my downstairs neighbours. :(

I've been given my fair share of floor poundings from my neighbors upstairs from me, but my downstairs neighbors are loud enough that I don't care if they can hear me. They've never complained, probably only because they can't hear me over the noise they make.

I am not sure what my upstairs neighbors were doing in their dining alcove at around 4am on a Wednesday morning while I was uh... "testing" some bass drums, but they were evidently not happy. I live alone, so I don't need a dining area, so that's where my little studio is set up at - with a nice long 16' patch cord out to the turntables in my living room. So I guess they were either in their kitchen, or maybe they could hear it from the other end of their apartment, although I never hear anything in my bedroom, which is on the other side. Its an old building though and hardwood floors carry sound really differently.

It's Super Bowl Sunday, and I can't seem to pull myself away from the Maschine! I've been so inspired since I got this piece of hardware. Sorry wife, I have a new love in my life! :p

Here's the beat I started this morning. Have to take a break from it though, because kick off is in just over an hour. :D

Dude, you completely guilted me into working on some new stuff. Last weekend I was tracking vocals for the first time ever with my buddy on the Knock Twice beat I did, and on another beat I wrote for him for a spoken word piece he turned into a few verses.

Then he threw down the gauntlet and said I had do put something down for the third verse on the Ain't Funky beat, after his two, so I wrote rhymes for the first time since high school (that'd be like... man... almost 20 years... wow, I'm old.) I used to freestyle with all the boys in the hood back then, but wasn't even thinking about the construction of rhymes at that point.

So, now I have my 16, time to record them, see how they come out, and see if I am really willing to put that up here for everyone to snap on, haha....

But tonight, if all goes well, there will be a new beat from me flipping a sample that I don't think anyone has ever flipped for a hip hop track, or would, even. I wanted to revisit the idea that hip hop's sound came from how it was made even more than what it was from, so I'm taking a known-by-some cut and twisting it up like it was 1993 and I had a Acura coupe to bump my demo tape in.

got some new stuff uploaded! 3 songs with me and my boys
    Eastville myspace
Alot of swedish in there but the music is universal! My and affix's rhymes are in english tho. The beats: "Känner en snubbe" is made by Tape-Roc on the EPS, Ännu en dag is made by Flintah on an MPC 60, and Skallar i gung is made by me on the maschine!

I got a decent start on it tonight, but ran into some "not paying attention" bits where I went in and rechopped stuff. If I had just sampled into Maschine through Jack or Soundflower, it would have been fine.

There's one sample (the one you can hear clearly at 0:20) that can be turned up a bit, but the rest sounds good to me.

Love the samples! Man this forum makes me miss the 90's. I haven't listened to the radio in like 3 years. It's all just garbage. But stuff like this...it gives me hope. :D

One of my favourite tracks that samples this awesome Isaac Hayes track:
