Yeah, it's real laid back. Not really my style of music. I'm not much of a Reggae man myself, but it sounds clean.

I appreciate the feedback and you checking it out!

and the Dont be afraid to die track is dope! It reminds me of something out of The Boondock Saints (My favorite movie of all time, by the way) or A Gangster flick, laid back, but meaningful! I like it.

@prawnus , cool production like the vibe.... the track is really building up that certain tention, makes me wait for some kinda break and then some kinda variation or "enforcement " with different drums or whateva....
@architect , that "rabbit in your headlight" piano suits for a dark beat theme and the way u mix tracks now are way doper now , the sample coming in at 1:33 somehow is not sticking with the others in my ears..... + beware of too many changes and complications, the listener might loose the central theme of your pro if theres more than 1

@Architect: the change ups (for example the one at 1:02) are confusing to me, because the "one" (the first count of the bar) seems to have shifted. The drums hit about 1/8 later than expected. :S

nice track but i can't really hear the low end - kick and bass - in the mix.

@Architect i agree with the comments from the others. i also liked the intro but i am not sure it works with the rest of the song, as they were too different.

also i know you say you suck at bass lines, but your tracks really need them. is there another member of your band that could help your with bass lines? or maybe you should bite the bullet and try making some bass lines with your loops? try with a relatively straight version in of a loop in terms of chopping and put a simple bass with it.

if you are working with a rapper, i feel you need to make your chopped loops more simple, otherwise the rapper will find it difficult to rap because the beat changes too much. having said that maybe your rapper has a super cool way of reacting fast when the beat changes?

Thanks for the feedback everyone Dont be afraid to die wasnt for anybody but myself and you guys obviously I actually attempted a bassline this time and I know it's not noticeable. This track was more of a test to see if I could work with vocals but I'll go back master it some more fix it up and change it up a little bit because I know this has more potential than I worked with

Oh damn! I like it! Well, I'm not sure about the change up after 1:00, and I don't like the way that vocal sample sits in the beat. But the main sample and drums work really well together. The other aspects feel a bit conflicting.

Edit: All that was already said, I just hadn't read it yet when I listened to your track. Not dissin, because I liked the overall concept.

@ Architect: Not bad, I felt like some of those changeups were a bit wierd though. Also the vocal sample didn't quite sit right in the mix. Check out a beat I made a couple weeks ago: http://www.divshare.com/download/10611127-e24

I haven't been on here as much as I'd like - just wanted to thank everyone for their feedback on my draft tracks from last week- really helpful. Still have a lot to learn.

Been checkin out all your posted tracks. I don't have the skills yet to help out too much but i like the whole feel of all the music everyone is making on this thread.
    @Ceon - Plum is dope
@Nekkron - real nice sample - nice spin on the sample used in Loyalty - Cormega is one of all time fav mcs.
@Prawn - love the horns - nice laid back sound
@Nicro - killer track - listened to the track twice already - it's a real mellow sound, personally I don't think it would hurt to get the volume of the elec piano up a touch to make it a bit punchier - but dope the way it is anyway.

@Architect - thanks so much for your offer to send me a 90s drums kit - I tried to PM however I haven't made enough posts to PM yet - such a rookie! Can you PM me your email address and I'll get straight back to you. - thks!

Nekkron, I dig it. I would add a little variation into your drum pattern though, to break up the monotony.
