    Cool. I wasn't entirely sure about this one, but the 10% 1/4 swing on some of the samples (the hi-hat for example) seems to work. :cool:

    Scene | Patterns |copy & Paste

    Hi everyone - Does anyone know if while in the SCENE mode where several scenes are playing out if it is possible to add to the scene by playing instruments/sounds/samples via Mashine's groups pads?

    Also, does anyone know how to copy the pattern GRID notes and extend the patern notes from 8 bars to say 16 bars; to prevent having too playout all the group sounds another 16 bars?

    THX to all in advance.

    Does any one know if there is a live mode in maschine, so when you load a new track you dont have to save the project? Any tips on cutting time down between loads would be great for live. Thanks..

    Not that I'm aware of. So prepare some interludes to play inbetween tracks to keep the crowd entertained. :cool:

    That 1/4 swing is my favorite kinda feels like an SP.

    Soon I'll be able to compare the Maschine swing to the SP swing. I couldn't resist buying another SP-12 Turbo. :eek: :cool: It will be shipped today from NY to Rotterdam. I'm not sure when it will arrive.

    Yeah I had a SP1200. Nothing sounds or feels like it. But it was such a pain to deal with disks and such. After a while it just sat there so I sold it. I kinda miss it even tho' it never got used. After that (and selling a limited edition MPC3000) I decided I will never sell any classic gear that I buy.
    Tell me how your comparisons turns out.

    P.S. I might have a Commodore 64 Floppy Dive for sale.:lol:

    I might post some Maschine vs SP audio files. :cool:

    It comes with a Commodore 1541 5 1/4" floppy disk drive and I already have another one as backup. Finding unused floppy disks for a reasonable price might be a bit tricky.

    Hi guys !

    Here's my stuff.

    http://www.myspace.com/fankimankibeats

    It's all done with Maschine. The site is in Finnish but the music is the most important thing, isn't it? :cool:

    PS. Greetings from FINLAND (and sorry for possible grammar mistakes) !

    Fankimanki = Funky monkey? :lol:

    I like the main loop of "Prräp", but there's something wrong with the mix (distortion).

    YEA ! :D Fankimanki is modified from funky monkey ! Funky monkey is "Funkkaava apina" in Finnish... :D okay, this isn't a Finnish lesson.

    But yeah, sample isn't high quality and it doesn't sound amazing or anything like that but that's how well I can mix at the moment. "Prräp" was the third beat I made with Maschine. And i got Maschine last Monday so I hope i dont have to be perfect yet :D Btw Lotus, thanks for the feedback !

    Tell a bit more about yourself. How long have you been making beats? Is Maschine your only piece of gear? What's the Hip Hop scene like in the land of thousand lakes? Etc.

    I've been makin beats for a week now. If we don't count few beats i did about three years ago with Fruity Loops. And yeah, Maschine is my only piece of gear. I've been thinkin that should I buy a MIDI-keyboard or not but I'm not sure yet. What do you think about that? How useful is it when it comes to basslines and melodies etc? Hip hop scene in Finland? What's that? :D Haha. Finland is a heavy music country. Lordi ( Eurovision singing contest winner in 2006, maybe you remember.. ) and other heavy bands are popular. Of course here is many UG rappers and few mainstream rappers but overall the hip hop scene in Finland is small. But in my opinion here is many great producers ! Here's more great producers than rappers.

    How about your country? And how long have you been making beats? I really like them !

    Really? Then those beats are pretty impressive. :eek:

    I'm used to using a keyboard, even though I'm not much of a keyboard player, but I wouldn't like to do melodies and basslines with only a 16 pad controller. So I'd recommend a keyboard controller.

    Do you have some links I can check out?

    I'll answer this one later when I have more time.

    Thanks! :cool:

    Hi,

    While getting some tech support from forum-member Lotuz (http://www.native-instruments.com/forum/showthread.php?t=87712), I mentioned I had started doing my first beat using Maschine, and he asked me to post it. Here it is:

    http://www.soundclick.com/SiFi

    It's called Sweet Sunday Spice and is the result of 2-3 hours on a Sunday learning the ropes and getting the mojo going:) I was sort of distracted throughout as my 3 year old twins are in the middle of being potty trained. Nice.

    That's a pretty funny beat. If you're making a video, make sure it's in black and white. :lol:

    I bet you can make it sound serious if you chop up the samples. What I have in mind is the DJ Premier sound from around 1992 (check out the "Daily Operation" album by Gang Starr or the "Return Of The Boom Bap" album by KRS One). Too bad the clarinet is on the left and the right channel. I'd want to separate the guitar and the clarinet. Then a sliced breakbeat and some bass to finish it off. Man, one of these days I'm definitely going through my father's CD collection to find something similar. :p

    There's been a strong underground scene since the Eighties. Until around 2000 most MC's were mainly rhyming in English. Two examples:

    [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fgZRwRQJvRo&fmt=18"]YouTube - E-life - Stacked with honors[/ame]
    [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=18RM8KvOqPQ&fmt=18"]YouTube - The Most Official:Next block[/ame] Unfortunately there have never been many Dutch labels willing to release non-commercial Hip Hop. Commercial Hip Hop with rappers (pretending to be MC's) rhyming in Dutch on the other hand... :( But the last couple of years a lot of the real MC's have started rhyming in Dutch too and that caught the attention of a couple of Dutch labels. Again two examples:
