Maybe a dumb question here. I’ve been using M+ standalone since I got it but I’m getting ready to take the next steps and hook it up to the computer to finish it off and bounce out some tracks.

Whenever I set the M+ to controller mode and hook it up to my computer, the Maschine software doesn’t see the internal SD card. Is this normal?

If I want to further refine and eventually export a song in my computer, how do I access what I already did in standalone?

Also, I want to be able to add tags and things like that to my user samples in M+.

Just not sure I understand the workflow from M+ standalone to the computer. Doesn’t quite feel as seamless as I would’ve expected. But maybe I’m missing something.

The manual doesn’t seem to say much about it.

Haven’t tried controller mode yet myself, but you can access the SD card when in standalone mode connected to your computer via USB. It’s in Settings somewhere, sorry can’t remember off the topi of my head right now. You might need to hold shift to see the Storage option. I agree that they need to streamline and simplify the process of moving projects between the two modes.

Thanks. I know how to access Storage mode.

What I want to know is if you can also access the content in the SD card while in Controller mode. Otherwise not sure how the integration works unless you're transferring files via Storage mode first, then switching to Controller mode and repeat cycle. Which sounds like a drag.

At the moment that sounds like the only way it works. I would be happy to find out there's another way. Hoping this becomes a priority after general stability in standalone is sorted out.

I dont have the M+ but i doubt that what you want will be available... to access the sd card the usb connection would be in storage mode, but to be in controller mode the usb connection must be in HID mode..hence the two are totally incompatible..

i will note that there are plenty of standalone workstations, samplers and grooveboxes have this identical "issue". its not an issue though, it simply just is.

    Actually it‘s a drag and drop ;)

That‘s how it currently works. Not super smooth, but better than not having a standalone at all.

Also, tagging of the samples has to be done in the Maschine software. After that, the tagged WAV files can be copied to the SD Card and are used by the M+. Again, not super smooth, but... yeah, current state.

It‘s tedious if you want to switch between working on the M+ and in the software all the time, but I think if your workflow is more like; create ideas on M+, finish tracks in Maschine software, prepare projects for live performance and move back to M+, perform on M+, it should be of limited impact.

Welp I guess that’s just the way it is. Thanks for the info, all.
