Solved Maschine in demo only after 2.8 update :-(

In case someone else has an issue with the activation with Maschine 2.8 - Please note that it might not be directly related to the issue discussed here. I would suggest first to check if Maschine 2 is actually available in your account here: https://www.native-instruments.com/en/my-account

If yes and you suddenly struggle to activate Maschine 2 after the 2.8 update - it could be due to an old Maschine 2 Update license in your account: https://support.native-instruments.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000566557

Hi I had this problem - but I pressed refresh in Native Access as suggested and that done the job - MASCHINE 2.8 now opens properly and not in demo mode.

Click Refresh in Native Access that should sort it - worked for me.

 

Totally off topic: blondepeterson spreading a domain that is up for sale can inflate it's price, just saying this in case you want to buy it back.

Peace, Maschine Fam. I'm seeing here many people having difficulties with the new 2.8 update. I, too, have been going through my own share (it's 2 1/2 days with Maschine Updating Library, then Updating Factory Effect Tags, now, currently scanning my library.....AGAIN..... IN IT'S ENTIRETY!!!), but I have to ask, are all these major problems on Macs? I ask because I'm on PC and I haven't had any problems when I first opened the software. It wasn't until I finally stopped being a lazy one and started going through my updates in Native Access. I don't know what the new system that they have in place is since I didn't do anything, just looked for what's new. I went through many pages and features (on the Studio) and it looks good from what I'm seeing. I guess you have to be a little patient and let it do it's thing. Now, I will say that the integration with sounds.com is kinda wack; we've been building our own sounds and libraries forever. I really do think, if they should fix anything, it should be the forever long awaited song layer... song mode... whatever you want to call it. That would really redeem their image. And after this fiasco, and Akai already has 3 TOUCH SCREEN (no less) pieces of equipment, I'm really going to need that "WOW" factor back from NI.

 

I just found out that pirated software will have this happen. If Maschine 2.7.10 or before is/was legit, there should be no problems.

 

I'm still having the same issue since installing the update last week, Maschine is still in demo. posted a request at the beginning of the week and haven't heard back.

 

I have a ticket open too (#1788136)

I tried 360000848825, raised a community ticket, NI Support replied that 360000848825 was not appropriate as the Maschine 2 Update licence had to be removed from my account and to contact Account Support.

Account Support then emailed me telling me to try 360000848825. I'm going round in circles!

I don't have an update licence to my knowledge.

Maybe I'm a little sensitive as this thread is now implying that I've got these problems because Native Access thinks my software might be pirated. I bought a used Studio sure, the licence was transferred to me from another user though, the licence is registered and showing on my account. I have the physical NI Maschine 2 CD and licence. Until 2.8 everything was fine. I'm beginning to think it was not transferred properly?

 

Yeah, I bought maschine 2 for 100 and I also have the serial that vame with my mk3. Theres really no explanayion. Hoping to get this resolved

 

13 days now no maschine , am i missing something here ? they... ni support has so far tried 3 fixes with me 1. Was support tool which did not work .2.a registry patch also failed and the 3rd option was to grant them remote access to my windows 10 pc workstation which i thought a bit over reaching and intrusive that i declined . and here i sit day after day losing money, opportunities and face with the embarrassment of having to give another excuse to a client/customer of why i haven't got access to my music , music they paid for wtf am i the only one here that's this has been totally catastrophic for ? I mean its been nearly two weeks ...will it be three ? a month ? who's gonna pay my bills ? when i have to refund money to people will someone please do something about this

 

Just curious but was your Maschine license bought new or transferred from another user?

Have you tried uninstalling 2.8 and then installing 2.7.2? Maschine 2.72 shows as Full in Native Access for me.

 

ChrisReeves no i haven't i thought about but was afraid i would make things worse and yes both mk2 mk3 purchased new from guitar center along with komplete10 ..is that what you downgraded from 2.8.1 to 2.7.2 and works like before this stupid update fiasco ?

 

Yeah. It is a pain. If you're not confident then perhaps don't but it's not difficult.

• Download legacy Windows 7-10 2.7.2 from NI Support here. It does say it's 32 bit but installs the 64 bit version. Unzip 2.72 download.
• Right click the Maschine 2 iso from your download and select Mount. It show as a virtual cd in This PC.
  
• Uninstall Maschine 2 from the Windows Control Panel - Add remove programs (Not Native Access)
  
• Open the virtual CD you mounted and click the setup.exe
  
• When it's finished, open Native Access and Maschine should show 2.72 as Full again. 2.81 should show as an available updates.

That's what I've done. I can't promise it'll work for you but you can always re-install 2.81 again from Native Access. Sorry if it doesn't. Might keep the money coming in
