    i want a mixer.

I have been looking at the
    BEHRINGER X-TOUCH
and the compact version because they have motorized faders which is pretty important to me.

I see the Jam has a decent deal going on and i was wondering if anybody has been able to use the Maschine Jam as a Mixer for Logic Pro X?

I am in the process of moving away from Maschine Standalone and im also looking for a more hands on method of mixing and applying automation to my tracks. if anyone has any good videos, or maybe a testimonial on how they use Maschine Jam as a Mixer i would be very appreciative. thanks in advance.

Any controller can control a mixer via MIDI, either by custom mapping or by using Mackie standards templates, I think all NI controllers have Mackie templates. The only advantage of the motorized faders is physically seeing the fader position as opposed to reading a value in a controller screen or knob/strip led's.

Consider that buying Jam just to use the touch strips for mixer control you end up also paying for a bunch of features you won't use.
Have you tried using the Mackie template for your Maschine Controller in logic?

Better off buying a mixer. Look at the Slate Raven MTI2. I have one and you can use touch screen with everything in your computer too.

That's a lot more than a mixer and very high end (thus expensive).
IMO It would only make sense when you have a professional recording studio open for business, for a home studio producer its overkill.

Well, between the xtouch an jam, I'll go for xtouch if it was for mixing purposes .
Theses are not same price range products anyway.
X touch can be great along the years as if you really like it you can end up buying 2 or 3 and connect them to make a bigger console.. And it has really Very interesting features for mixing.

The X touch is a seriously great piece of gear.. and of course it can be used for a lot more than just a mixer, check out the vids, its a total control surface for your DAW and VSTs.. personally i would get the larger version with jog wheel etc

Did you ever end up trying this? How did it work? I'm having to replace my Kmix and was interested in the Jam, and wondering if maybe an RME interface + JAM would give me similar functionality (with superior converters) to my Kmix...

Jam would give similar functionality and would be more versatile for step and live sequencing + the many templates you can customize for your needs

Jam has a mcu light template that will work in logic , this can be edited to include more function
