I agree. For instance the new Akai MPC One has been out of stock for a month in most places. This has been great PR for Akai as the public mostly assume this is due to huge demand, but I believe it’s supply chain related due to recent events.

Checking NI’s own Jam page at https://www.native-instruments.com/en/products/maschine/production-systems/maschine-jam/ I still think it’s a very relevant controller. I’d be surprised if they discontinued it before introducing the pending software improvements that are hopefully getting released soon.

Yeah, usual shops here in germany don't seem to have it either. My guess is that it's going to be discontinued. There's absolutely no love from NI for the Jam, which is a pity. 1 year ago I was in Berlin for the Superbooth, and NI had a fancy room, full of gear and not 1 Single JAM.

I think it's an absolute waste of potential. Mk3 and the JAM together are killer combination. As D-One mentions, the software is dragging this behind: they just need performance recording, and the ability to be able to control things separately.

They are sitting on so much potential, but i guess the market spoke...

What do you guys think? Is it still worth getting the Jam for what it is atm assuming it may not receive any further updates and/or support

If the buyer is perfectly happy with all the functionality Jam offers right now then sure, it's worth it, for him.
If the buyer is not ok with a high possibility it being discontinued very soon, no receiving any updates, being superseded by a new model, or whatever else might happen then no.

It really speeds up some pain-points of the Maschine workflow when using it with a Maschine MK3 or a KKMK2. I wouldn't want to be without mine whilst a Maschine user. My guess is that if they are discontinued with no replacement, and NI continue to support the Jam in Maschine 3.0+, they might become highly sought after by hardcore Maschine users. It does things that no other product I know of can do. The touch faders are definitely unusual, and what you can do with them outside of mixing is extremely cool, in particular playing notes. It works beautifully for ambient FM stuff.

I think why the Jam is suddenly seeing some interest at last is because they're incredibly cheap to pick up right now, so people can see what they can do and aren't peeved by the price point (especially used) or lack of development.

I'd genuinely be disappointed if NI didn't do a follow-up product and never developed the Jam any further than it currently is. Hardware-wise, it's superb, just needs the software.

Best controller on the market for scene/clip based arranging, IMO. Works great with Bitwig as well- which for me really amplifies the value of it.

After spending a few days using mine all i gotta say is get one! Been able to dedicate each controller to an instance of Maschine in Live is awesome, it's like having two versions of Maschine but the step sequencer is dope.

Also didn't know but when the maschine instance is closed in Live you still get the overlay gui pop up so can browse via the Jam so don't need to switch to it. Overall makes working with Maschine more fluid and fun. Love it! :D

This is all great but if they just stick screens on the maschine jam then I don’t need it why would I need six screens on my set up and threw Maschine controllers?

Bonus Beats Depends, run multiple instances, use open Jam for portable use; the other for the studio? Use them in a hybrid Maschine/controller setup with Traktor and Live? I don't need screens on a Jam personally and i think it needs developing more as HammyHavoc and others keep saying, can't understand why it's not been, it's equal to Maschine in it's own way and discontinuing it would be criminal IMHO. NI really do need to focus on developing the software though and i'm really curious on what's coming next as there is so much potential there!

I use the touch strips a lot. Key attraction. Also use the entirety of it, but the touch strips are key.

No I love the patterns buttons on the Jam and that’s why I would never sell it.
    Touch strips? Nope.
    Browser? Nope.
    Drum pads? Nope.
Automation? Does it even do automation?
    Mixer? Nope.
    sampling? Nope.

    Locks matrix? YES.
    Patterns matrix? YES.

Looking at different stores around the world also in germany its obvious that Jam mk1 will no longer be produced. I own Maschine mk3, Kontrol S1 and Jam and there is a need for a Jam controller in the future. I guess there will be a mk2 soon. There might be a launch of a new Maschine Software in parallel - I hope - with some special Jam features that support a better integration.
NI needs to come with details concerning the one Native stands for. I hope soon...
